from the blog:
[8:08 AM Pacific on 10/24/07]: We are presently working on a solution to ensure all residents receive their stipend as soon as possible. We will keep you posted here when we receive further information. Thank you for your patience. _____________________

When I started a year ago the stipends were almost always delivered before 1am SLT. Slowly over the months they have been slipping back to late afternoon, or early evening. This time it is different. A group of us have been watching the times for months and we always receive them in the same order, at about the same interval. This time, 3 of the 4 of us never received anything. The one that did, received hers almost 12 hours earlier than (recent) normal. All 3 of those accounts renewed within the last week, so I would be willing to bet something glitched, and treated those renewals as new accounts that would not be eligable for a stipend until the next week. I have heard from a few others now that also renewed last week, that failed to get their stipend too. |

Also, a week or two back they mentioned that due to the large number of residents they have to process now, the stipend and dividend process takes much longer than it used to. So from now on, I wouldn't start crying about it until Thursday. For some it won't arrive until Wednesday.

I call bullshit. The number of people receiving stipend has flattened out and is even less than what they had to pay in June. What it tells me is that their own internal searches stink and they have no efficient means of paying the stipend. I will note that my parcel fees and group fees came out just fine yesterday and today, but stipend never went in.
I'm trying reeeeealllly hard not to say something I'll regret. _____________________

When the severe delay began, there had actually been a reduction in the number of premium subscribers, casting some doubt that the number of premium accounts was the cause of the problem. Stipends were coming out up to 12 hours faster late in the spring with a higher number of premium subscribers. The problem this time is not just a matter of being late, it is the fact that some accounts are being skipped altogether. My account, and my wifes account have been paid within minutes of each other since we subscribed. This week hers was paid almost 12 hours earlier than it has been, and mine still has not received anything. *edited to remove a comment that I probably would have regretted ![]() |

Well I wouldn't be surprised if they cycle through all 10 million accounts, check to see if they are premium, then pay the stipend. If they do it follows to reason as the population grows, this would take longer. But only the Lindens know for sure how they do it.

They knew well enough to take money from me yesterday and today, for group fees, classifieds, etc. I do not see how they did not know to put in my stipend.

Mine just appeared.
I just hate it when you open a ticket and it gets closed with a referance to the blog that says they know that they have a problem. As someone who does troubleshooting if I closed a ticket by just acknowledging that there is a problem I would be fired, you dont close a ticket until the problem has been repaired and the user agrees. _____________________

Classifieds get taken out immediately all on time, so what is the big deal with paying out stipends on time? It's a reversed process, if you think about it. They scan classifieds, and if it comes due, they subtract the price from the AV owning it. I'm betting there are a lot fewer classifieds than there are Avatars, thus a shorter list to scan. _____________________

I got my stipend.
... but I still haven't got the $20US in undelivered Lindens credited back to my account, despite two phone calls and opening a ticket as requested. *admires the shiny week-old ticket* |
