either it`s me going crazy for the past 2-3 days or something changed since the rolling restart monday...

ligting has became slightly softer making the nights more dark and making dark textures pitch black
water looks abit more blueish and new textrue render specially when looking from sea to air
sunrise/sunset sky colors look abit different with better mixing between colors

didn`t change settings and been wondering why my textures look so dark at night while nothing changed on my side
not complaining as it actually gives me a tiny bit more pleasure to drop what i`m doing and watch sunrise and at night makes it feel ur on a island in the middle of nowhere and everything is pitch black (even added temp lighting as i ran into walls lol)

anyone else noticed this?

I haven't noticed this yet, not being able to be online much. But it could be LL is already integrating some of the fixes/changes in the graphics/lighting foundation code, to roll out windlight in a future version. But this would be all client/viewer side, not caused by a rolling restart, but by a viewer update.

Part of the latest upgrade.

I personally haven't seen much difference in the lighting, but have not around in the open air too much yet. Been strictly inside venue!

started to notice it after all textures are abit more darker in general and paying attention to it as of why it`s all darker

hope it`s for windlight cause that will be awsom (if they fixed the normal day cycle bugs)

edit: just took a good look at my skin and it`s alot darker aswell

LOL.. I have to admit to panicking slightly when I loaded the new client, thinking 'someone' in the household had been messing with the monitor settings. Our Sim is set to midnight by default, so logging in requires to reset the lighting... I've never seen it SO dark there before.
I quickly reached for DisplayMate and checked everything, to make sure nothing on my end had changed.

I'd still like 'Local Lights' to have a greater definition, they are still very muted.

Now you mention it, I noticed it too since the day before yesterday. Because I don't know if this will be permanently, I have placed some extra lights in my shop on low lit areas.

I've not updated to the optional client yet but finally got round to puting a HDMI/DVI lead between PC and TV and *that* seriously altered the brightness and contrast compared to the SVGA. Had to RTFM to change it lol .. guess I'll have to do it again soon

still on the 18.2 as i`ll be damned to update unless it becomes manditory to see if if it`s just the old client rendering it all wrong and fixed in the new for the changes(if any)

better not be to attached to ur attachements bilbo cause see something get resized i`ll be detaching it

Vista wouldn't enable my soundboard when I first installed it... it asked Microsoft (aka Holywood annexe) and replied "Vista does not recognise your heaphones.. contact you manufacturer and DEMAND a compliant hardware.' Hmmm.. Googled that one, surprisingly, it brought up nothing lol...

You pluggin in a HDTV via DMI, told me you don't have Vista, judging by the scouring remarks I read on the Vista technical forums lol...

Aha! well, text is a little cranky at the smaller fonts, a kind of aliasing of widths where the uprights of two identical letters can be different widths. Only downside I can think of but at a quick look always makes my eyes think they're not focused

I don't think this shows so much in SL though, shall double check .... in ... 45 minutes .. frommmm ... NOW!

On the Mac client I did notice things got a bit darker, especially at certain times of day. It's been that way for the last two main client releases, I think, and also for the Release Candidate versions.
