Active RP community?

I'm looking for an active RP community to get into preferrably one with good story and combat... clans or gangs etc. And active people who don't just stand on the corner of the street talking!

I'm more of a sword fighter as gun fighting has never interested me.

Any kind of community is fine... vamp, gothic, city, samurai, etc.

No bdsm, forced stuff though please!

I would check out "The Crack Den" (in the Hathian sim), which is an urban RP with the background of forced fantasy (though not bdsm as such) but has actually a lot of gang/clan stuff, it's very busy and is spread over 5 sims. The only thing you might find odd is that they don't use combat meters so for your sword interest you have to text RP your combat rather than actually doing sword moves. The focus on text RP though does create rich dialogues and storylines however. The theme is of a "real" city in RL so only humans and 2009 gear.

In a similar vein (but of course with differences) to CD is Dystopia.

I don't know much about the next two so you'd have to check them out but Midian and Toxian are also busy, generally well regarded RPs. Both of which allow supernatural/hybrid characters. They (I think) use DCS2 combat meters so for your sword interest, that might be interesting for you.

You might want to also check out the Samurai community at Combat Samurai Island, where the system they use there (Ci) actually requires a fair degree of training and skill to use. Last time I looked however (though admittedly well over a year ago now), the focus was more on the combat and skill than true storylines; disclaimer being that may have changed since then.

Another busy RP community is the Star Wars RP (SWRP) communities (which of course use lightsabers mainly in lieu of swords) though that has less of a gang/clan things (unless you count the factions as clans). Just put "Star Wars" or "SWRP" in Search/Places.

Karamoon. It has a bit of everything.

Theres a ton of them in SL, just type in "Roleplay" for a search. The thing with alot of them though, it's so laggy in the sims you can barely walk, neverimind do combat. But yes I'd say crackden as far as if your looking for a more "human" type sim. It tends to be the rough streets and gangs type rp there. There's a ton of RP sims though and most let you wander around without being bothered if you want to take a look at them. Usually they have a "guest" type hovertext you'd wear so everyone knows your new there and only looking around.
