Try Command(apple)/click or option/click or get a 2-3 button mouse.

Come to think of it, how has she been right - clicking before? When she's not on SL? Kinda weird.

Macs have both a ctrl key and a command(apple or squirly thing - like a square with a mini circle at each corner) key. She's using the ctrl-click. She should command-click.

This is the symbol she should be seeing ⌘

Ah, platform wars. How very 1998 of you.

To the OP: command (apple key) and click. It's sorta "backwards" on SL.

not really platform wars. I own a mac, they are great for many things. Gaming is not one of them.

Bah! SL runs fine on a Mac. And that's ALL that matters in this particular forum. ;)

yeah, tell her its the same combination she uses to get a contextural menu.

You might also want to suggest to ger that she run out and pick up a cheap multi-button USB mouse, prefferably with a wheel. Those extra buttons and wheel really come in handy on the mac too... ESPECIALLY if you're doing any kinds of graphics work.

It isn't, though. It's control click everywhere else, command-click in SL

Agreed. The Mighty Mouse that ships with newer iMacs is especially good for this, too.

I really like the Mighty Mouse except for the stupid scroll ball I have to 'fix' every week. Grrr
Drives me nuts! I'm thinking of just getting a cheapy one to replace it.

Besides the OP stating the the subject is *not* a gamer, that is an ironic response. Also, if you must have Windows to run games, Macs run Windows natively you know. ;)

For the OP, Macs can handle any two button USB mouse. If you are using the Mighty Mouse, be sure to go to System Preferences and enable the right click button to do what you want (it is very customizable).

How do I right-click on my Mac? Um, I right-click. :)

Current Macs come with what looks like a one-button mouse (called a "Mighty Mouse";), but you can either left- or right-click with it. You can also use any USB mouse you want.
