Is there a way to get Local Chat and IM chats to be black text on a white background?

Go to the Program Files location where your viewer is installed and in that folder will be a "skins" folder. In there will be a folder for each available skin -- go into whichever skin folder you are using. The file called colors_base.xml is the one you want and then find this section:
(note that the spacing is a bit modified below to get past forum posting issues)
CHAT AND IM HISTORY TEXTBOX COLORS
< ChatHistoryBgColor value = "102, 102, 102, 255" / >
< ChatHistoryTextColor value = "102, 103, 102, 255" / >
< IMHistoryBgColor value = "204, 204, 204, 255" />
< IMHistoryTextColor value = "204, 204, 204, 255" / >
If the current values are white on black, just swap them, otherwise find the RGB values for what you want and enter it.
