I was at Sinewave when i got hit with an im informing me of cheaper dances. i was then given a landmark to the place. i did not go but it did send alarm bells ringing. so if any animation creators want to make sure their content is not there, please send me an im in world and i will give you the landmark. From what I hear http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/general-sl-discussion/38600-copybot-second-life-again.html#post841044 This is stolen content. ARing it is fine, but passing around a LM is kinda questionable. _____________________

It's not necessarily stolen content, but definitely bad business practise... hire a noob or create an alt, visit your business rivals, hand out LM's to your own store and try to steal customers.
Did you inform the Sinewave owners, too? |

I have often had IMs giving me LMs for places that are like where i am at that time. I IM the person and ask them not to spam then often contact the places owner to see if they are aware that this person is spamming. Many are not and remove the spammer from the group

Last night a few of the Cartel group members went to SineWave to look at new dances. Upon arrival, they were immediately IMd by someone right there at the TP landing point. The IM was claiming to be able to take them to a yard sale where these exact dances could be bought cheaper.
I'm pretty sure that SineWave was one of the creators that got ripped in the latest batch of stolen content. The folks last night sent IMs to the SineWave folks, but the account that was spamming them with the IMs was a brand new account. _____________________

This isn't an ARable offense, is it? Unless it's ARable- and Linden Lab acts on the AR to punish the account holder- banning every new alt that shows up is like playing Whack-a-Mole. And it probably strains the 300 avatar limit on the ban list.

I never accept unsolicited LMs/Notecards, nor do I respond to unsolicited IMs telling me about 'great deals'. Personally, I would pay double or triple if I had to to avoid patronizing a seller who does low life crap like going somewhere else (that's obviously more popular), and tries to steal customers from a legit dealer.
