I work in alot of clubs as a DJ and might be able to get you in touch with them Edit - Oops... didn't see the model part. Let me see what i can do to help you. Send me an IM in game and i'll talk to you there. Should be home in a few hours from work

You'd probably be better off just buying a few L$, but you can also check the Classifieds here: /118/1.html

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Hi, Caroline!
Being a model is not really a L$-earning job in SL; it's more something that people do as a pleasing fantasy. It isn't highly-paid in SL as it is in RL, because it's much easier for anyone to be beautiful. Certainly if you wish to be a model, you will need to spend some money first to buy an attractive avatar, poses, and possibly a photo system.
To work in a bar, probably as a dancer or similar, you will again probably need to begin by paying a little money in to make your avatar attractive enough. Once you have done this, you may be able to earn that money back in tips, although the pay is not generally high.
Usually, having a "job" in SL is only worth doing if you enjoy the work.

Caroline,
IM me in world, I'll send you an article about jobs and money.
Bottom line: The most effective use of your time is to simply buy some L$ with a credit card or PayPal account. Almost all SL jobs pay far less per hour than RL minimum wage.
But by all means, earn money in world (with a job, or a business, or whatever) if it is something you find to be fun.

Thanks Caroline Walmer Hello Caroline! Welcome to Second Life! The Sl Classifields in-world (you get there through Search, on your viewer) is plenty of jobs; select 'employnement' category, then type 'Models', and see what comes up! Alternatively, you may want to start your career by Live Posing, which is the first step on Modelling in SL. I have a store where you can have an outfit, plus a Teen Body Shape Set (Shape, Skin, Hair & Eyes) to let you start up! There is a small payment for the time you Live Posing, plus a Bonus at the end of each month worked. Metaverse Store Slur: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Second%20World/224/176/41I hope it helps!

Thanks Caroline Walmer If you want to host or DJ I can gift you a seat in CLUB SCHOOL. Just let me know which you want. Then join the open enrollment group CLUB JOBS and see what clubs are hiring now. Also - Look in Search for VooDoo Models and see if they are taking in new staff. .

I'll add what I tell every single newbie who comes to SL and starts looking for ways to earn linden: don't worry about it so much. Spend $5 and buy some lindens, if you like, but spend your first month exploring, building and learning about SL and how everything works. After that first month you'll have a much better appreciation of what the gird is all about and the sorts of things that can be done, and you'll also have a better idea of what you'd like to do.
Don't forget real life skills, too! More often than not, the real success stories in SL come from people who find ways to apply their RL know-how to the environment.
