Interesting, and it's good to see SL being used for teaching and demonstration. However, I think that there are more hands-on, RL ways of simulating emergencies.

I read that article earlier today and was rather amused to see that, in the second picture, one of the paramedics has a box on his head, in classic old-skool n00b style. (Actually, I could be wrong, but is that the Cardboard Boxbot head?) And with regard to this, from the end of the article: From: someone The e-learning unit now plans to expand Second Life lessons to students on a range of other healthcare courses such as midwifery and physiotherapy. Someone might want to remind those trainee SL midwives that unborn foetuses in RL don't usually talk...

And Skell, excellent observation. It does indeed appear to be the boxbot head! You can see the flaps.

At least this explains why it can take 4 hours for an ambulance to turn up. The paramedics are all having the time of their lives wandering around SL with boxes on their heads.
