Hi, I was pretty active in SL about 6 months ago... I am just getting back into it but it seems like there is no one around! Every time I go in now I get bored and leave because I can't seem to find anyone.
Can anyone tell me where are good places to meet people?
Also, I thought there used to be a option to see the top active places on the search feature... does it no longer exist?

Taking classes or going to discussion groups in world I found very helpful
in making new friends. Also finding place you like to regular hang out at be it place or group like Forum Cartel, NCI, Shelter, favorite music club, Sandbox, etc. I also I have made friends from the forums too. _____________________

I had pretty much determined it's random silliness that brings people together. I find out more spontaneous gatherings in group IM chat than in any event listing.

Isabel, top places has been replaced by the much better Showcase. There you may find places which are interesting for several reasons (and all of them categorized) and visited more frequently.
Help Island is a great place to meet people and learn (or teach) things at the same time. Sandor  |

You can meet some interesting types on the Nude Beaches. Errr ... maybe that's not quite what you meant ...

also depend on what you're interested in. for example if you liked dancing, you could do a search on dance clubs and find people that way. give us some of your interests and maybe we can help.

I looked through my chat logs yesterday, summed up over 1500 log files, one for each person i've chatted with. I've been around for 8 months so if you do the numbers, that's an average of 6.25 NEW people spoken to per day, every day for 8 months. um, hang out with me?? I seem to meet plenty. |
