Just caught this posted on the blog yesterday: "We’ve recovered a 463,000 inventory items that were lost and fixed 79,000 inventory folders. These belonged to a total of 143,000 Residents. They were not showing up in Residents’ inventories because they did not have a valid parent folder and many of them have been lost for quite some time. They have all been placed in the their owner’s top-level folder called “My Inventory”. " http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/12/14/inventory-items-recovered/So, has anyone here recovered any long lost items? I have not logged in to check yet, but it raises hope! :^)

The only items returned to me would have been items that I didn't know were missing. I don't *think* I've lost anything.

Hadn't check mine yet.. but I'd probably not notice it, if I had. I tend to be very disorganized.

not that I noticed, but with a 20,000 + inventory I would not know unless it was something I was specifically looking for

From: Rhaorth Antonelli not that I noticed, but with a 20,000 + inventory I would not know unless it was something I was specifically looking for I have about 20K too. Sometimes I dont really believe this because I have often gone threw every single one of them. Now if I had that much in my rl closet I would never get it done.

There once was a scripted Swan named Peeper... Why was it named Peeper you ask? Because it lived in a pond next to a house and frequently was known to spend long minutes staring in the floor to ceiling windows. This swan was the cherished friend of Paul and Tony who quite enjoyed staring out thier windows back at Peeper. One day late in 2004 Paul arrived home and gazed out fondly looking for Peeper. What no little birdie face staring back in at him. He called for his partner Tony and they spent hours looking for Peeper. Finally with great sadness they had to accept that Peeper had indeed flown the coop and simply was not to be found. They removed thier pond as looking out upon it without Peeper was just to sad. In June 2005 after moving house to 3 different sims Paul logged in one day to a message. Your Object "Swan" has been returned to your inventory. Peeper had come home!!! With great joy the exstatic couple built a new pond and happily placed peeper in it. A few more months pass and again Peeper vanished. The couple moved home again to yet another sim. And one day in early 2006 Paul recieved the joyful message: Your Object "Swan" has been returned to your inventory. Thinking to outsmart thier recalcitrant bird Paul and tony built an indoor pond this time and happily placed peeper in it. Things went well Peeper stared at them, they started at peeper all was right with the world...UNTIL...once more the Swan Flocked off. Months passed, and more months, then one day while out ballooning I was landing on the roof of my shop and on the way down what should I see but and upside down White swan hanging at 200 ft. Quickly clicking the bird I realised it belonged to Paul and I had found the wayward wandering Peeper! I quickly called Paul RL and had him come retrieve his lost friend (not trusting SL return). To this day Peeper resides in Pauls inventory and is brought out occasionally to visit. But his days of unsupervised swimming are over. Completely True story.

There is a scripted dolphin which swims outside one place I'm renting - the house hangs out over the water. When an Avi is in the house he'll swim past the window for a look.
I swear this dolphin has a favorite among my Alts. For one particular Alt he'll come up near the window and stay. For all the others he pauses briefly and then moves on - I think he's looking for his buddy.

I'm still awaiting the return of my lost flying Delorian and skin demos folder full of about 5,000 demo skins. Just wondering, where do these items show up in our inventory when they return? Lost & Found? Objects?

I had several items returned to me, but they were all items that i swear i deleted. So I deleted them again. It was a bunch of freebie junk that i had collected.
I do wish they would find my lucky chair, i miss it. That was the only thing that vanished i wanted to keep.

I suspect that for most folks where this has happened, they've lost most of their inventory. It happened to a friend of mine; I hope she has her stuff back!
