Group Owned land abilities ??

Just today I was given an OWNER tag for group owned land with all abilities to terraform, return objects, ban etc, though when I wear the tag I cannot perform any of these abilities. Did the land owner miss something?? Should there be a certain box ticked so I can use these abilities??

Are you showing up as an owner in the group info? Are you sure you have the right group activated? Are you sure the land the land you are on has been deeded to the group? You should not have to check anything additional...

Is the land actually owned by the Group, meaning you are a joint owner?

Do you only rent/own the land and pay a form of tier to the owner/group?

No the land is owned by a friend who gave me owner abilities so i can perform terraforming, returning object etc. The land is set to group

In that case you need to check that in the group, under the role "Owner" what are the abilities, they might not be set correctly, hence the reason you cannot do anything.

Role's can be added or deleted and called anything within reason, but if the abilities are not set to that role, you will have only those abilities under that title.

Yes it's a bit of a fiddle to set up, took me a few attempts to set every up to work.

As far as I know the land has to be deeded to group not just set to group for it to be group owned. If the land is still owned by your friend, the owner title applies only to the group not the land.
From what you're saying it seems to me that the land is indeed owned by your friend, which means you have group owner abilities for the group only, not for the land.

When you click on the access tab, or maybe it isnt access, I cant remember.
But when you click on about land, access, it should show what abilities the owner of the land has allowed to all the residents in it.

For example, I have deeded my land to my group, and allowed everyone access to all but to run scripts (I have not really, they have all the rights).

Maybe the owner has neglected to give you these rights.

I can make the title of any group status "owner" and it will appear above your head.

You need to make sure that you are, in fact, an owner of the group. When you go to edit > groups and see your name in the list of group members, is it bolded? If it is not bolded, you are NOT a true owner of the group, you have simply be given a title of owner.

See if you can set the land for sale to me for $0 and I'll let you know if it works

On a more serious note, I scrolled thru the abilities all were checked, and all seemed to be right, though I will have another look.
No I am not a co-owner of the land, he just set this group up so I can do things when he is not there. This is his second sim, the first I had the same abilities and worked fine, so Im not sure why this one is not.

This is the problem. Group powers no longer apply to land merely set to group. The land must be deeded to the group for your ownership powers to work.

As an aside, that must be one hell of a good friend to trust you with the power to sell their land.

Thanx Cristalle, That is the problem, he set it to group but did not deed the land to group. And yes he is one hell of a good friend and I to him, I would never sell his land, my morals in rl apply to sl as well.
