When logging in a few days ago, I saw a question on the new *gag* forums that piqued my interest. I read it and today wanted to go reread it.
How the heck do you do searches in that mess?? I read the faqs, tried different ways to figure out how to search and the best I can come up with is searching for tags. So I tried that and used every tag that popped up that would pertain to the post I was seeking. Nada.
Also, is there any way to search on posts by specific people. On these forums sometimes that was the easiest way to find a post if I remembered who answered.

The new and improved forums have many features and LL will be able to do all sorts of really cool stuff with that software!

Quit asking questions. If you needed to search, LL would have made it possible.

I'd like to know this as well. I tried looking there last night and couldn't figure out how to search after taking forever to even find the new SL Answers.

In the New World Or....I mean, in the new blogorums, you do not need to search. LL will provide you with the answers they feel you need when they deem you need it. Resistance is futile...

If it was an interesting thread, it's almost certainly now safely hidden away in the "Merchants' Roundtable" star chamber. I rather doubt that we, the unwashed masses, are permitted to search those sacred texts.

Click the Search link on the top right of the page, then the little green circle with the arrow in it that you see in the box that pops down. This will bring you to a search page with a "please enter at least one search term" error message.
Underneath that search blank, you'll see some tiny text that says "more options", click that to show some of the more useful search options.
If you want to use the Who blank, put a dot between the first and last names, that is type it as Czari.Zenovka, or you'll just get a menu you have to pick a name from. The "Search for:" field at the top can't be blank, and it doesn't much care for generic words like "the".
The tiny "search tips" link has a summary of the syntax you can use in the "Search for" field.

Haha, when they opened the commerce forums I started a thread called something like: "Blue and Galathri, navigation, HELLO!" So, no, there is no sane way to search the commerce forum. EDIT: thanks Viktoria! I guess the jury is out on whether that method is "sane" ) If you want to find posts by somebody, bring up their Commerce Forum profile (somehow), and their "most recent" few posts will be listed there. I think that's as good as you can get. But here's a little known navigation trick that may help: To see a chronological list of the threads in the commerce forum, open any one of the "most recent" threads. Then, at the very top of the screen, you will see a path specification that does not look like a link. But it is, and if you click on "Discussions", voila.
