Can't edit friend's objects...

I'm helping with a huge building project at a friend's estate. He's got me tagged to edit his objects, and I have tagged him to be able to edit mine. I've got estate admin abilities, and I have the ability to edit group items. All according to the many boxes that can be checked off, anyways, because I can't edit anything that's not mine :P

I right click the object, choose edit, and build window comes up greyed out.

If I already have the build window up and then right click the object, the build window isn't greyed out anymore, and I can edit parameters, but the moment I hit 'Edit Linked Parts' or 'Select Textures' everything gets greyed out again.

If I have the build window up already and left click the object, nothing happens. It doesn't even get selected.

What am I doing wrong? Please help?

I can't edit anything on Forums. Is it widespread issue?

In tools, make sure you haven't got 'select only my objects' checked. That might not be the exact wording as I am not inworld at the moment.

Glad you found the solution :)

Another common cause for this is if they have Locked the build. That also prevents you from Editing it, even if you have permission.
