The cable company says they can not help me connecting to online games. =/
So on my my Netgear Port forwarding there is a place that has this;

Name| Start Port| End Port| Protocol| Local IP Address

The name of course would be Second Life
Start port and End Port I don't know what to put there.
Protocol has a drop down that reads TCP UDP or Both
The IP Address of course would be mine.

What do I put in Start Port and End Port?
I think Protocol would be Both TCP and UDP?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Turn off the firewall function completely, set it up to do network address translation and that's that.

I unchecked enable the firewall which reads; When Firewall Features are enabled, the gateway will perform Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and protect against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. Is that safe?

I have no idea where to find; "set it up to do network address translation", and that's that.

The unchecking the firewall worked! I'm around 34 sec packets in and around 20 sec packets out standing still. For once I can stay in world for longer then 5 minutes! YAY TY TY TY!

if you have some special need of the firewall functions this list will help
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Configuring_Your_Corporate_Firewall_to_Allow_Access_to_Second_Life

but for most home users just enabling NAT (network address translation) on your router is plenty of protection.
