Anyone else seeing this? How are you dealing with it?

Lately, I've been getting some odd visual effects. Prims keep disappearing on me.

I've seen this happen in the past, just after a TP while things are rezzing, but this is odd in that it's happening in places where I've been for a while. I just made a small change to a build and the prim and the one next to it just vanished, sending me scooting all over the sim in search of it. (It was a complicated, carefully sized, placed and textured prim that I didn't want to have to duplicate.)

When I finally gave up and went back, it was right where I expected it to be.

Is this happening to anyone else? Sim is at 1.24 but I hesitate to say that's what the issue is.

yes this seems to be happening recently, I have no idea why, probably something to do with the new server updates. I rezzed a 800 prim built and as I was working on it saw 256 prims disappear, I had to save the reduced build and put it away, rez out the original to grab the vanished prims, took three attempts to make those 256 prims to stay put while I had time to take a copy of them. 24 hours later there on the sim was the 3 sets of 256 prims floating in the air where I have rezzed them.

Yea same thing has been happening to me as well. In fact seeing parts of my region just disappear on me but it is all there. I will teleport to another part of region and back and everything reloads again.
Also the other day i was working on a prim with particles and it disappeared on me while working on it. . I had to teleport away and back to get it to re-appear again.
Odd Behavior

Going away and coming back is what seems to have worked for me too. Oh well, at least I know I'm not hallucinating again.

I got something similar yesterday - had TP'd to my store; had Search open (I think) and most of the store was invisible. I closed Search and it suddenly appeared...

At that point my sim was still on 1.23.

Ah! so I'm NOT going insane!

I sort of assumed that LL was playing with the LOD (level-of-detail) parameters again. Have you seen it enough to be able to say whether prims which are very near to you disappear, or is it just prims in the middle distance of whatever your rez distance is?

yep me too .. and we are also at 1.24
now you see it ... now you dont.. for a bunch of things...



within 20m ... so not far at all and prim things as well as scuplt things..
and if you try to look for it with a golden rectangle thingie.. its plain not there..

When it happened to me this morning, I was right on top of it. Maybe 20 meters away tops, but I was cammed right onto the build.

I was moving a row of prims a few centimeters over got to the last one and made the change and suddenly, it, and one next to it was gone. Also, the editing window went dark.

Of course I assumed I tossed the prim across the sim and went chasing after it, but couldn't find it. When I went back a few minutes later, all was well again.

I had similar problems a few nights ago, but I thought it might have something to do with my video card having fits.

I'm guessing tho that the Lindens are doing something or other. At least it doesn't appear to be the mono deploy.

i had this the other day as well, i few prims were missing from the side of my tavern, how did that happen, spent half an hour carefully replacing them, walked around the building and came back to find a texture glitch going on, the original prims had re-apeared. very odd
