Is it possible to revoke an abuse report?
The other day (I think saturday...) I was working on my clients property, building their lecture hall, and someone tps to a parcel next door (Not owned by them at all...) They proceed to drop a bunch of flaming, exploding barrels on the ground, which also launch about 190 prims onto my clients land. (I sound all lawyer-y with that gah...) Every one of the objects (I don't know what they looked like) that were launched also chat-spammed, so.. it was a greifer attack, seemed pretty obvious to me. I fly over to them, say 'excuse me' (Gotta be polite =P), and they... disappear, TP'd away. So, since it seemed blatantly obvious it was a griefer attack, and still no response from this guy, I AR'd the person for griefing (BTW does that go under harrassment?).
About 2 minutes later I got an IM from him asking for a tp to clean it up.... OK, I set no build, no entry, no scripts for my clients land (Just in case) and tp him in. He stays right where I bring him, still in the land, and deletes every object he can see (Dunno if there were invisis... nothing else happened though) that was his, and continues to apologize profusely, and he seems nice...
Problem is, I've already AR'd him, and far as I know can't revoke it, though now I don't want him getting a strike on his record, he didn't seem to know that that would happen, and is pretty nice after all...
so again, is it possible to revoke an AR? Even if too late now, would be good to know in the future.

Don't worry. Nothing comes of most AR's. Worse case would be a warning.

Forward the AR email back to the abuse manager - should be an email address in there somewhere. Tell them what happened and ask if they can fix the problem..
Also, if you're premium/conceirge, you could try a support chat - might be easier that way. For anything involving an AR, I always start these chats with "about RT#X" where X is the number you get from the AR email. Makes it a bit easier on the Linden you're chatting with if you tell them the RT number up front.

When they acknowledge your AR there's an email address you can write to with any additional info. Just send them an email saying you want to withdraw the report. I'm sure they'll be pleased to have less work.

In the past you could simply reply to the automated email with ammendments, but if you're going to talk with support anyway, it might be a good idea to ask whether that still actually works .

I am convinced that LL pretty much dumps all the AR's and starts new after they have stacked up long enough.

I see action on my AR's involving inapproperate objects all the time. As to the original post, I once mistakenly AR'ed a friend of mine. I replied to the E-mail asking they cancel the AR, and they did. I always wished we could get some feedback on the AR's we write. Something like 'not enough info', 'action taken', 'frivolus', etc... It would help our 'aim' a bit better. -s

Okiphia, this happened to me once and I simply returned the mail I got confirming the AR, telling them that it was a mistake, and amazingly I got a reply back that LL was cancelling the AR. This was a while back, so I'm not sure if this still works but give it a try. Or you ould send the subject of the AR, the guy who came and cleaned up, an IM he could use if (a very big if ) LL ever contacts him about the AR.
