Prims Crossing Property Line Problems

I keep having this problem with other people's prims "bleeding" over onto my property. I can't return the objects but they are clearly hanging over into my land. I am able to make prims I build hang over into other people's land as well. What is up with this and how can it be fixed?

Oops, forgot to mention, I have my land set so only people in the group can build. I even put a wall just inside my property line so there's no question where the line is. The prims are definately hanging over.

Thanks for the help.

IM the people and let them know. if they ignore or respond dirtily, AR them. keep track of ALL conversations! make notecards. take pictures (snapshots).

Thanks 3Ring. I'm taking for granted that the Lindens know about this problem and aren't fixing it. Which really sucks because this is the third time with a third person this has happened on my land.

The "overhang" is because the position of the object is read from its centre (where that is depends on the shape, cut paths etc) and doesn't take account of its size... you can see this for yourself by rezzing a 10x10x10 cube and moving it in edit mode up to the border of your property - you'll see that you can get 4.99 metres of it across onto your neighbour's property because SL still "sees" it as being within yours.

As 3ring said, a polite enquiry to your neighbours should resolve the problem - after all you could do the same to them (but don't!). If that fails, or they get nasty about it, start ARing the prims and get all your friends over and get them to do the same too - the Governance team look at flurries of reports quicker than they do at singletons - so I'm told.

No, really. I had the same experience: When I (a guy) asked for an encroaching prim to be removed ... raised middle finger. When my alt (a cute little chick) asked another member of the land owning group, off it went.

This really works ... amazing, isn't it? ;)

*breaks out cute skirt and tube top to ask LL to fix the BIG list of things to fix on the JIRA pages*

Do you think pigtails would be too obvious?

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I'm starting to think I need an alt that's a guy. Bryce is a girl's name, too. It's not just a guy's name. Ron Howard's daughter is also named Bryce. If there is one thing I've learned in just over a year playing SL it's that you can't assume the sex of the person on the other end of the screen.
