I was another casualty of losing the music on my land for some reason. Cleared cache, rebooted, yadda x3 and still theres no music coming through...yet on the lot 2 doors down I can hear the music just fine *shrug*

So this is what I was thinking, why not share some of your favorite stations to play. I go to some places like Paul Dielli's and LOVE his calypso music for a beach themed business. It's too bad that it only shows ********************* for one anothers music stations b/c it would be great to have a variety for your own land.

What are some of your favorites?

Classic Rock
New Country
80's retro
70's retro
Hip Hop
Latin/Calypso/Caribbean
Talk
Classical
Opera
Top 40
Old Country
Rave
Cristalle Karami

Someone made a list of working streams on the secondlife.com wiki. I think it was Amras. I am probably wrong. But I know the list of working streams is out there.

I like jazz or the Chillout Lounge for default music.

I tend to play country music on my land.

I seek the stations on www.shoutcast.com

When I search there for country stations, I usually get more than 300 to choose from.

Right now I'm using : http://scfire-ntc-aa03.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1019

If a station stops working for some reason, I just find another on Shoutcast, but usually they will work for months without problems.

BTW, if you want calypso, a search for calypso in Shoutcast gave me around 9 stations ...

Fascinating new SL Station that was shared with me and I am using at the XXXL Mall is:

http://www.secondjam.com:8000

That URL only seems to work IN SL, not in a web browser.

Raymond, I tried to get the link to appear it comes up blank and a space where the url should be.

She be right about that.

It was posted on forum I think but if you use Shoutcast to find stations you like, play them in Winamp and go to the Info tab (sorry, at work, can't remember exactly what it is called) you will find the URL there.

I favour trance and progressive but with the evolution of the Temple I think maybe something a bit more mellow in between the raves is a good plan :)

Maybe I can be persuaded into mellow jazz ... :)

If someone knows of a good bop/hard bop stream I'd be grateful to know it. I've tried some of the Modern jazz ones but there's just a touch too much of the "experimental" for my tastes.
