hi , i have a question probably a dumb one but . lets say your in your house and u can see on your minmap a green dot and you know your neighbor is over in his or her house. is there a way to tell if they are cam spying on u? i was told there was but dont know how. and one more question... when your with a group of ppl and someone clicks on your av to read your profile . is there a way to tell if they are doing so? the reason i ask this one is, every time i click on someones profile, i seem to sence they know it.... lol ..by there av actions. i dont know if it is built in the avatars to respond slightly when clicked on or if the actual person knows it :D

Advanced > Character > Show Look at
If you don't have an Advanced menu, press CTRL+ALT+D

This shows crosshairs everywhere a camera is focused, in various colours depending on how it is focused. If there's more than one near you, then someone else is looking near you. There's no way to tell who, though.

Colours listed here:

Nope, no way to know someone is looking at your profile, and as far as I know avatars don't respond to being clicked, either. However, their head moves to look at people based on various things, including:
Last person nearby to talk
Closest person
Object they have selected
Where their mouse is
Where they're looking in Mouselook
Who you're responding to
Alt+Clicking

One of the options, under the advanced menu I think, is "show look at" or something like that. If that is selected, you will see a bunch of colored cross-hairs on your screen that show where various avs are looking -- however there is no way to know which cross-hair belongs to whom. If there are only 2 of you in your home and you see 3 cross-hairs, then 'someone' is camming in.

Note that the cross-hairs only show where the camera was clicked for focus, but it could then be swiveled to actually look at something else.

There is no way for anyone to tell if you are reading their profile or if they are reading yours.

ETA: er, ummmm, what Kiera said
:)

yes there is a way to tell if someone is zoomed in on you, its umm in the advanced menu someplace...cant really recall..but once on, itll show you little lines from them to you :) Someone smarter than me will come along and tell you exactly how I guess. lol

unless they took it out in the latest release..I foudn it very distracting to be honest..and if people wanna watch what im doing, they must have VERY dulll lives!

In the Advnced > Character menu, there's also "Show point at" - right underneath Show look at. It puts pink lines on anything that you attach your cam to. E.g. using Alt-leftclick to attach your cam or zoom in on something or someone puts pink, crosshair lines up for others to see. I.e. you may not have the lines on show but other people can set them to show and they'll see where you are pointing. If you have your cam attached to someone, they can see it but they don't know whose cam is attached.

If you think ppl know you have clicked on them to read their profile maybe you have clicked on some attachment they are wearing. Xcite will sent the wearer a message if someone clicks on it.

Both, but they can only see yours if they have it activated as well. If theirs is acitvated, they will be able to see this whether you have it turned on or not.

Just play around with it and you'll get the idea. It's easier to do than to put in words. And as mentioned above, it really only shows where you (or they) anchor the camera, not necessarily where someone is looking /zooming.

Show Look At isn't 100% effective. I know the workarounds. You'll never know where ~my~ cam or clicks are. =^-^=

I'm always looking at people and other people are always looking at me. It sort of goes with the territory of a virtual world with graphics and avatars!!!

The worst thing about it is you can't make it stay on as a default setting. you have to reset it every time you log in. At least I haven't found a way.
