http://shoutcast.com

Install iTunes and make it your default player. Find a station on shoutcast you like and click the LISTEN button. iTunes will open the stream. Then right click the radio station line in iTunes and choose GET INFO. Then click EDIT URL and copy the URL shown. Paste the URL into your land to make sure it will work in SL. Once you hear it play in your land then add it to the contents of your SL radio.

Raster Teazle makes a two prim radio that you can add users and URLS to.

Assuming you're talking about playing music on your land:

The best place to look is www.shoutcast.com - search for stations broadcasting your kind of thang. You're looking for an URL something like this:

http://scfire-ntc-aa05.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1074

You can then put that URL into your parcel media settings. There are probably better ways to find that URL, but I right-click on the "Tune in" (or whatever) button and save the target .pls file to my desktop, open it with a text editor and find the URL that way.

Shoutcast is not the only way of getting music into SL, but it's one of the easiest and has a massive database of stations.

Sorry to bring back an old thread....

I'm having a hard time with this. I found a station I like on shoutcast (acoustic alternative), clicked tune in and have it playing on my computer in itunes.
But I can't right click the radio staion line for get info, all I get is a copy option. And using that doesn't get a Url. I tried to get it from the shoutcast page but I'm having no luck there.
Please can you help a computer know nothing?

Hmm ... if right-clicking on the "Tune in" button only gives you a 'copy' option, what *does* that copy?

I hate to say this, but if "copy" is all you see on the right-click menu for a button, I have to say "get a better browser". I'm using Firefox - what are you currently using?

If you are using winamp to play their stream from shoutcast website . you can click on FILE at the top menu of Winamp and then VIEW FILE INFO to extract the stream URL or ALT+3
