How tall can a "skyscraper" be and still maintain a look that people can enjoy .. taking in consideration draw distance etc...

What are some of the tallest buildings on Sl that actually look good?

There is a replica of the Twin Towers that are pretty amazing. They go way up there! I can't imagine anything much taller than that.

if people have the draw distance at 64 (much like I do) and each floor is 10 meters... then after 6 stories it would disappear

do the math for higher draw distances

I found this to be pretty impressive...

But, I have a draw distance of 256... I'm not sure how many people would actually see the whole thing. It had tons of rooms inside too. (^_^)y

I'm a pretty short fur, so everyone seems taller, but I have noticed a fair amount of women nowadays like being Amazonian Tall. It's odd.

Do you mean for the people who live in it, or the neighbors? People who like skyscrapers might want to live in as big a place as possible. People next store might be upset by just about any urban structure that was garishly out of place in the area.

I happen to love hi-rise buildings, and have a sim full of them in the City of Liome. They're very popular with renters, too. I occasionally get a vacancy but they usually fill fast.

I was concerned with building something that cannot be seen in its entirety by the average cartoon Character. I was thinking of doing 13 Stories at 20M per floor and am curious if that was too high and worth the effort.. I did see a copy of the Sears Tower once but that was before the new viewer so it looked pretty good from far away. I should go look again if I can find it.

btw.
Most neighbors on SL have ugly hack houses with garbage littering every vertical Meter and therefore have no no say in this matter.

Sounds like fun, VonG. As long as you have enough prims, I would recommend that you let imagination win over draw distance any time. Most people can't see all of the SS Galaxy at once. If they made sure everyone with a 64 draw distance could see all of it, they would have made it a tugboat.

I think truthfully anyone taller then me is too tall:)
You all need to shrink.
Yet they aren't talking about avatar height...sorry to OP.
