So I just read about the clarifications to the trademark policy - wow, that's going to cause some issues...

The term SL can only be used in business names and domains with at least TWO (not one) nouns that aren't proper nouns, huh? You have 90 days to change before they come after you...

So how many big names can you think of that are going to get bitten by this? The first one that springs to mind is SL Exchange - only one noun there, folks!

The SL Ballet (that I was able to go and see and thoroughly enjoyed around christmas time) is specifically mentioned - so they will have to change - hmm, wonder if they will force them to change the group name, too....

Who else is going to have to take some sort of action because of this?

That whole, 'Second Life world,' 'Linden dollars,' 'LindeX exchange' thing seems almost are arbitrary as the two common nouns requirement. What's so wrong with 'Second Life,' 'Lindens,' and 'LindeX' on their own?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

'Kleenex tissues', 'Xerox copier' and "IBM computer' are the correct usages for those products. It is the way the trademark rules are written. In order to be in compliance, the trademark has to be used as an adjective before a noun.
