I'm referring to the day cycle in SL Windlight. How do I get it to start?
I set up the cycle and click Save and then close it? When I close it, does it automatically start working or not? I know the PLAY button is only for testing it but when I click SAVE, I'm not sure if it actually starts running or not. I know I have to start it everytimes I log back in. I wish it could lock on to the game's time and continue to move. (not the estate time).
Thanks in advance.

I don't understand the question. Do you mean how to set 'mid-day', 'sunrise', 'sunset', etc. Then keep it at that setting all day?

Are you talking the future Windlight client (which has some funky daytime customisations) or the current client?

Uh, the current one has "funky" day settings too.
I'm talking about the day cycle. I DO NOT want it to stay the same time all day. THere's something called a Day Cycle editor and it works sometimes... I think but I'm trying to figure out how to get it to keep going through the cycle. If I hit the PLAY button in the day cycle editor, it'll start, but that's only a test. I think I have to hit the save button and then it'll start but I'm not sure...
It's only in windlight and it's only client side but I'd like it to work anyway.
Thank you for the bump.

Also....in the Day Cycle Editor, make sure all your time of day markers are different "skies". If they're all set to the same one...the time of day will never change. Also keep in mind how long of a cycle you set. 24 hours may seem like a good idea, but then it will really seem like nothing above you is moving. I find the standard 4 hours works well. Just make sure that after you click the play button you click the little X box to close out that window and leave the day cycle running.

I think I figured it out. You set the day cycle settings under the world ->environment settings->advanced sky->day cycle editor. Then you just close it and it just retains the settings. Then if you go back to the environment settings and move your time of day slider around you should see the sky conforming to your cycle settings. And the force sun settings, sunrise, midday, etc.. will also follow the new cycle as well. I just tried it and made my sun stay up all the way from sunrise to sunset and then go through a very quick night.
