Maybe im blind but I cant find the single most important component when it comes to 3D apps. The GPU.

From: Barrowness Beaumont Hi Zumpkin It's intergrated into the motherboard with this pc If you are planning to use the onboard GPU then the anwser would be - no it wont run SL. http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.phpPretty much the only thing you need to list are CPU, RAM, GPU. The rest is obviously important but not really important to SL performance.

The initial post says there is a video card, an nVidia Geforce, waiting for the computer. It doesn't say exactly what model the card is.
The "GPU" would then be the one in the video card.
I don't see the processor clock speed listed.
Is this a package deal at some site?

What he said - unless of course you buy a tasty card and have that too.
Onboard audio well that's not TOO bad esp onboard 5.1 unless you really are an audio nut. Graphics - well I regret an underpowered GeForce now that I am running Windlight ... I'll be buying a new card asap.
Rest of the spec looks ok - sure you don't want a Quad Core?
/me dreams of expendable income!

Is this a package deal at some site? Hi SuezanneC The card I have is a GeForce 7300 GS 256 MB DDR2, VGA+DVI-I + HDTV-out (64 bit), I know it's a bit older now than the new 8 series but it's brand new and in it's box as it was bought to use in my current pc but unfortuately my current pc doesn't have PCI express so it has laid unused and so I can't justify another one at this moment in time. Re your question about is this a package deal - no it's website where you build your own pc - but alas I admit I am not an expert when it come to this sort of stuff *blush! BB

I know at least two people who run SL just fine with default onboard graphics.

Is this a package deal at some site? The initial post says that the board has motherboard integrated 3D video. Some boards with integrated video do not play well with external graphics cards even though they may be shut off ( which I don't know in this case )

You really want to upgrade the video card, probably to something like an nvidia 8600GT or a ATI 2600XT. Better if you can afford it. You'd actually be better off buying cheaper motherboard, processor, and less memory and upgrading your video card more.
Without upgrading the video to that level, you will be maxing out your video card and using maybe 20% of your computers power -- it may not be worth upgrading your PC at all. The 7300 or the onboard video will probably give you no better performance than a 3 or 4 year old PC for any sort of gaming.

I just pressed the buy button on Monday, so I feel your pain - I actually had to call someone who I care about very deeply for moral support while I plugged in my CC info and hit the submit button. I'm so cheap.
At any rate, I agree that you should spring for a better card if you can, but if you have that one, it should work. I've seen SL run on an old 6800 with a P4 processor.
Lag isn't a function of just your graphics card, so even with the newest 8800GT, you are still likely to see some instances of lag. Your lag will be prettier. 4 gigs of Ram will help. I don't see the specs on your CPU, but it should be fine. Make sure all your drivers are up to date.

They started using those codes instead of advertising the 'megahurts' for clarity reasons Well it actualy makes sense because people might get confused buying a new CPU that is only 2.66 Mhz Duo to replace their old 3Mhz P4. Anyway yes the game worked on my old P4 2.4Mhz witha a 6600 GT it allso worked on the same comp with a X800 Pro and now it works on a E6750 with a 8800GT. They all worked but for SL its never enough The performance differences between all these cards are quite dramatic though.
