Has anybody ever encountered this teleporting problem?

Okay - I've tried to live with it but now it's just really getting on my nerves...
A while back one of my "friends" shot at me with a gun that she braught. Sadly she didn't realize that it was one of them stupid teleport guns. Every time it hit me it would try to tp me to my home location over and over.
Now whenever i try to teleport anywhere it takes at least 4 attempts to do so as if there's some sort of script running in the background. I've tried using a different computer and even a different avatar but it seems that it's only this avatar being effected by it.
Is there any way to stop this because my Second Life experience has become miserable now - I can't go and hang out with my friends without them having to constantly tp me over and over.
I can't afford to and i'm not going to pay for a premium account just to ask Linden Labs for help because the only benefit i'd get from a premium account is, well, no benefit at all.
Does anybody know what the problem might be and how do i go about fixing it?
Like i said it's like something is running in the background as soon as i teleport anywhere =-/
Any help would be extremely appreciated as i've had to endure this for months now.
Thanks.

If there's any way for you to try logging in to SL at a different real world location, such as at a friend's house, that would be a good thing to do for testing purposes.
Also you might try doing a detach all to make sure you don't have any troublesome scripts running in any attachments such as hair, flight aids, etc.
Just to make sure, you are saying that the problem occurs with your main avatar, on different computers at the same physical location, and not on a different avatar on those same computers at the same physical location.
What kind of internet service? Do you have networked computers? If so, wired or wireless network?
If you have a wireless network you might try connecting wired if possible and see if that makes a difference.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Also you might try doing a detach all to make sure you don't have any troublesome scripts running in any attachments such as hair, flight aids, etc. Yes, I think this is very likely the source of the problem. Probably around the time your friend started using you for target practice, you acquired new hair, shoes, a HUD, or some other attachment, mostly likely one containing scripts. A prime suspect for this would be anything with those goddamn resizing scripts. Anyway, please follow Suezanne's suggestion to remove all attachments (right click on yourself and page through the pie menu for "Detach All" , then try teleporting again. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. Then you can try adding back attachments one at a time (or not at all, if you can live without them: even unscripted attachments add risk and delay to TPs and sim crossings).

If it's the case that 1) The TP problem is not related to a particular departure place or destination 2) You don't have the problem if you use a different (alt) account 3) Your avatar has the problem even on a different PC
... then it's very likely that the problem is due to some attachment(s) that you are wearing.
Could it be that you are wearing some sort of shield to pretect yourself from your friend's gun?
As Susanne says, detach everything and try TPing. Add back attachments one by one between TPs and see if there is an effect.
ETA: I should type faster and not multi-task.

I thought it might be something i'm wearing and some of my stuff does use a resize script so now i just have to find out what item of clothing is causing it... Might be the hair but i'll try going through each one. Thanks again

Can scripted attachments be detected? That would save all the try it and see work.

Yes just edit the object and look in the contents tab. If it's modify, go to tools, reset all scripts and see how many are in the item.
A script can detect what avatars are wearing scripted items but not how many.
An estate owner can see in the estate tools what the script load is per avatar.
Emerald viewer will show the increase or decrease in script quantity as they change typically due to avatars arriving and leaving.

Any way a non-estate owner can get this info for their own avatar? And what would be a reasonable load anyway? Been wondering this for a while now ...

Been wondering this for a while now ... Unfortunately not - not on mainland, anyway.

Been wondering this for a while now ... Make friends with a sim owner and ask nicely I believe LL have plans to impose some sort of script limits (though I've no idea on what basis) and I understand they are currently compiling figures in order to try and determine what does constitute a "reasonable" load. [SARCASM] It is, of course, inconceivable that they'd do this without providing scripters and users the tools to determine the load that the scripts they are writing or the products they are buying will create.
