Now that ad-farms have all but disappeared from SL, I'm wondering if one has been preserved as a heritage site. When I came to SL nearly 3 years ago I started out by buying a few 16m lots on an ad farm and joining them and putting a simple hut on them. I actually lived on an ad-farm to begin with, and worked my way up from there.
I'm as pleased as anybody that the ad-farms are gone, but it might be interesting one day to take someone back to one and say 'this is what it used to be like'.

it would ironic to see such a shrine to adfarms. i would probably visit it though. especially if all the famous ones had a 16 there.

A couple of Arbor Project members are setting up a museum at: Erewhon~ Museum for the Mainland, Dongyeongju (5, 27, 63) displaying a few relics and snapshots.
If you have any before and after snapshots of ad farm/cutter abuse I'm sure they would welcome copies.

It would be quite effective to send wrong doers to an adfarm sim owned by LL as punishment like the Corn Field was.

Adfarm heritage site. Isnt that an oxymoron?
Actually at my gallery Cartoon World (see below) I have a "sculpture" called Adfarm Memorial on display at ground level.

Hey! I have a few heritage ad-farms. L$9999 each.
How many do you want?

I thought about making a model ad-farm, about 20% scale.

From: Conifer Dada I thought about making a model ad-farm, about 20% scale. if you look around a bit, Arcadia Asylum made one quite some time ago and it's still available.

Irony would be that in creating the memorial, one got AR'd for owning an ad farm...
I don't have anything to contribute to one. I lost a lot of my snapshots in a crash last year. Stupid hard drive didn't realize it couldn't fly.

Sadly, Timo Daehlie was coerced by Linden Lab to shut down The Ad Zoo, because it "offended" the adfarmers.
he had all kinds of samples of the worst, including little miniature versions of some of them in little boxes for presentation.
Of course, given that LL FINALLY addressed the Adfarming and extortion racket, he was happy to close that chapter of SL history.
Hopefully the Arbor museum will get some of that history; would be a shame to lose what pain a few activist residents went through for the greater good.

The museum came about to preserve some of what people had to do to fight against ad farms, and also to show photos of what it looked like. The basic idea being that mainland can be, and slowly is getting better.
The best, unintentional source for seeing ad farms is You Tube. I kept having to restart a building tutorial as I kept getting distracted by all of the glowing, spewing, spinning, floating ad signs in the background.
