Help please!

I'm new (obviously) and I can't seem to change my underwear (bra or panties). I've gone through the appearance box, gone through detach, gone through take off and nothing is working. So far as I can tell, SL thinks my undies aren't there but they are and they're ugly!!!

There are a few skins around with painted on undies. Try a different skin. There's some not bad ones in the library these days.

Are you on the Teen Grid?

Try rebaking textures. The shortcut for that is CTRL+ALT+R but I find the menu option works more times than the shortcut.

For the menu option you need to press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+D and you'll get a new menu called 'advanced'. In that menu, scroll down to 'Character' and then at the bottom of that Character menu is Rebake textures. Click that and wait.

It might also be that you're wearing one of the free skins that come with underwear 'painted' on. I'm not sure if the new default avatars have those skins or not, but if they do then you'll need a new skin. There are plenty of free ones inworld if that's the case.

Coincidentally, there's a good free-to-new residents skin available at a place that shares your name: Fleur. I'd recommend searching for that place in-world and picking up a copy of that skin (or, really, any other skin) and try wearing the replacement skin to see if bra and panties disappear. If they do, then spinster is right: they were part of the other skin texture.

(Oh, and good thought, Max: there have been some Teen Grid folks erroneously homed to these Forums, and that would explain the bra and panties.)

[Edit: btw, I think there's an Advanced option on Character or somewhere that toggles PG... I've never done that so not sure what it does... could it possibly have such an effect??]

And yes, on the Teen Grid, underwear is part of the skin.

I'm gonna try a new skin - that makes sense about the granny panties being painted on. I don't think i'm on the teen grid but I'm not sure how I would know that. I'm 28 if that makes a difference. Thank y'all for all of your help.
