I tried resizing a picture to put in my forum profile using Picasa, but I couldn't get it small enough. Is this another case of my missing brain or should I find another program to use or what?
Thanks!

~Ava resize and save it as a lower quality bitmap if you can..like... 64 colors or something, not 'true color'

Avatar Picture: The maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Profile Picture: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 97.7 KB (whichever is smaller).
Suggest saving the pic as .jpg, and at medium quality. That will make it smaller.

Mine are PNG, and they only come to 8Kb for the small one (forum av) and 20KB for the big one (profile pic). And with a PNG, no need to worry about JPG artifacts.
