Ive noticed in my account that my US dollar balance has gone into negative and is red. What does this mean? Havent noticed it before, and I havent changed my credit card details or anything.

most likely your tier is due, and ll havent been able to charge your cc.
mine does that every month (for a day or less).

Had this occure 2 weeks ago. Contect the support file a ticket. They get to the core of the problem. Might take a few rounds of tickets but they fix the problem.

Good Luck

Or send an email directly to billing. Oddly enough, they usually respond pretty quickly:))

In my case,
I went to the support page. filed a out of world issue. Then about payments. explined what happened. The replied and asked me a few Q. After about two hours it was fixed.

Atleaset for me that is.

Other ways that often fix this problem:

1) Re-enter your payment details. (may take a few hours to actually bill)

2) Purchase a small amount of lindens (even $1)... this forces your balance to be billed immediately.

3) Increase credit... forces immediate billing of your payment method, but you must add at least $25 at a time. (If that is more than you owe, the balance will remain on your account and be used next time you owe money.)

---

And of course check your account history. If it's only been in the red for a couple of hours, just wait a day and check again.

This is actually normal. There can sometimes be a delay between when LL takes your tier, and when your credit card gets charged. Mine was red for a day once. As soon as the charge to your card clears, it will return to 0.

this happened to me a while back. When LL switched their billing to the UK all of a sudden my bank flagged it as a high fraud billing attempt and I have to now call monthly to give my ok for that to be billed. What I find amazing is that I didn't get a "denied" e-mail from LL...PITA!!!! First try re-entering your billing info into your account, and if that doesn't work then check with your bank.

I had the same problem last month they got a issue right now with billing for some odd reason. I ended up calling LL and they said they put in a issue number but to delete credit card and re-enter.
There still a problem until I paid by increasing my credit in advance.
LL even wrote me and "blamed" my bank and me. I called my bank they said their was no payment rejected.
The problem is their screwed up billing department. Although beginning of last month they said in the blog it was due to something else they supposively fixed.
Contact them.
Then re-enter your billing credit card information because that all they will tell you to do and say they put in a issue numbre.
You still see it negative for a while.
If you're really impatient and that doesn't work pay through increasing your credit.
Few weeks or whenever they get around to you they say the issue has been resolved.

This happened to me every month since I went premium, which I think was in March or April, with the exception of last month. First time ever my US balance wasn't in the red on my tier/premium billing date. I always solved it by buying a couple of dollars worth of lindens on the website. It immediately cleared the negative balance because it forced the charge through on my credit card.

There should be no reason to reenter any payment information unless you yourself deleted the info.

There SHOULD be no reason... and yet it fixes the problem for a lot of people. Remember, we're talking about LL. ;)
