Hope someone can come up with something I haven't tried to solve this problem! I've done a forum search and haven't come across anything quite like this. I sat on a pose ball a couple of days ago (just a Bits n Bobs sit animation), stood up, and have been stuck in the animation ever since. I've tried stop all animations through the tools menu and with scripted objects. Detached everything, reverted to linden av from the library, tried stop all animations again - no luck. Tried the character test from the client menu without success. The problem persists across sims, and the offending pose ball has been deleted from my land so it isn't possible that it's the object continuing to animate me. I've relogged numerous times, cleared cache - still stuck in the animation. It persists even when wearing an AO containing priority 4 animations. If anyone has any more ideas, I would really appreciate it!

Might try uninstalling SL and then after it's uninstalled reinstall.
Also might try logging in from a different location.
And try the same object again, or a duplicate.
In the reverse of the order listed, I suppose.

What sometimes works is getting back on the object that animated you and standing up from it normally.

Thanks for your help. Reinstalled, removing all SL files, logged on at Pooley, animation was gone.
TPed home, and got stuck in the animation again. So it's definitely something in my sim; I own 3/4 of the sim and its quite a complex build so it should be fun working out what the problem is there! I'll work my way back to what I was doing when the problem started I guess. At least I know I can go to a quiet sim and stop all animations in the mean time, saves me from being a total social leper when I want to go somewhere!

Did you give something "permission to animate your avatar" in your sim? Once given, permissions are persistent within a sim, until the object is deleted or de-rezzed or the script reset in some other way.

No, that's the weird thing about it, it's pretty much just me there building, and I don't have anything that requests animation permissions through a menu. It was almost certainly a standard pose ball because that's the pose I am stuck in when I'm there, and I was stuck in the pose from the minute I stood up from the ball. Pose ball has been removed, but I did try rezzing it and sitting on it again which didn't help. Can't tell if there is anything wrong with the pose ball, it's no mod so I can't check the script, and I don't get the reset scripts option for it either.

Im assuming it's either an object on your land or a object or script dropped in the contents of an existing object..... a scan may locate it.
Simply deleting the poseball may not effect it, purge it from Trash also.

How about restarting your sim?

From: Stephanie Misfit Reinstalled, removing all SL files, logged on at Pooley, animation was gone.
TPed home, and got stuck in the animation again. Not sure how this helps, but: this is the behavior of a dance machine-like script, not a poseball. The thing is, once an animation is stopped, it doesn't just start itself because you're in the same sim as the script, unless that script is repeatedly pushing the animation on you--which dance machine scripts will do, and poseballs won't. An AO could do the same thing... and possibly Pooley has scripts disabled (?) which might have prevented an attached AO from pushing the anim... or possibly there's an AO dropped on the ground at the home sim? But none of that would explain why a higher priority anim won't override the one that doesn't stop. So maybe it's some *very* strange server bug, in which case a sim restart indeed might be in order. There are a couple of ways to debug animations, but none that I can think of that would help identify what exactly is pushing this one on your avatar.
