Blondin mentioned somewhere, might have been at his office hour last week, that he will be holding yet another office hour tomorrow at 10am SLT on his office plot in Hanley to discuss communication tools. He'll have Taka Linden with him, who is the guy who wrote the blog post about Avaline and got a lot of feedback about how people value Avaline!
So I'm guessing they're going to want to talk about more than Avaline, I wonder if they have some new ideas in the pipeline such as ways to improve communication, in which case, with group chat still wonky, do you think there are some simple ways to introduce new communication tools?
I have always wondered why they don't buy out subscribe-o-matic and then I think that I prefer the idea of subscribe-o-matic being independent.

The only new "Communication Tool" I would like to see LL release is the one they seem to have banned all their own employees from using on pain of death...
Listening to their own Customers, and valuing the feedback recieved that way.

I preferred XStreet being independent, since it had great customer service when it was. Stop giving LL ideas on what to suck up next, please?  As for communication tools, what we really need is something that allows us to be outside of SL and be able to IM other avatars who might or might not be in SL too. And maybe make it seamless with other IM programs. That'd be nice, since I hate the phone in RL and not fond of voice in SL either.

External IM support is something I would use. I don't use voice online, never have any desire to do so.

Pffft! That's all I'm saying about giving them ideas! Intergration with existing messenger systems would probably be a massive boost but I can't see that happening any time soon. |
