the reson I have stayed a mainland owner "renter"
all those trying to rip people off.
LL will not get involved in resident disputes (.) hopefully the island manager or owner will eventually just return all. as deleting every prim will be a pain. unless there's a quicker way than I know of.

You are renting what - a quarter of a regular sim?
Seems to me that it's his fault for not setting it up in a way that you can't go over your prim limit. And, it's one thing to go over by accident for an hour or so, but once you knew you were over - you took some in, right?
Sad news is that it's his sim - and there isn't a lot you can do except not pay. THe good news is that the San Francisco police nor Interpol really care if you go over your prim limits. lol
You can apologize and say that you won't go over again and that you'll let you friends know to be more careful, but that you aren't going to pay any overage fees for an honest mistake - especially since the extra prims are down now. If he doesn't want to take that - move. You can find quarter sims at that price all over the place right now, I'm sure of it. Moving sucks, but... if the landlord is going to do this - then you don't want to deal with what he's going to do when some other random bad thing happens.
Tell your friend not to worry about the police. Try to work it out with the landlord and if they don't want to work it out - pick up your stuff and move to Azure Islands or one of the big reputable places that knows how to set up land so you can't go over prims by accident.

Give someone who is not banned from that sim rights to modify your prims. Have them goto the sim and return your objects. Or you can wait. I'm sure the new renter don't want your prims and will have the sim owner return them anyways.

I wouldn't recommend renting from this person any more. And I would tell the victim not to worry about getting into trouble for "stealing prims".
PS: You need to make sure you don't use real names in the forums, even just first names.

The threat of police action is BS. As for your furniture I would give an alt perms to modify your prims, tp over there, and return all your stuff back to yourself. Maybe if you're patient you should let him hold on to your furniture for a few months while he loses out on rent andprim usage.

lol, what a joke ... the police. It's very hard to get someones IP adres from within SL. (it is possible when you listen to a music stream and he owns the music stream you are listening to)
Even when he has it he just can't call to your ISP to give your RL data.
-------------
It's the sim owners job to setup the sim/land correct not yours.
Even when you knew what you did (using the extra prims) then it's up to the sim owner to TALK with the resident and find a solution. If you don't listen he can ban you from the sim without a refund.

Pack up and start looking for a landlord that's less deranged.

From: Sammie Waffle w...he said that he banning me from my island, which he did, when i said i have had enough of this i am leaving the land he said he wont give my stuff back..... its 2 weeks b4 my rent is going to be paid, and i dont think i wont get it back b4 then....... i have sent a report but not heard a thing.... is there any thing i can do?? File a support ticket with the name of the region and ask LL to please return all your objects to you. Don't give LL the whole story - they will not want to hear it. Just say that you no longer have access to land that you were renting and only want your objects back so you can go find somewhere else to rent.

The owner is only bluffing, seems like those prims they were using were only sammie's prims, and in her skyspace also.
all this BS about paying his loss, and taking to the police. HA! bla bla bla bla blahhhhhh.

Don't worry

Nothing will happen. Do not pay a single L$. Forget the IP-number thing. He doesn't have your IP.nr. And even if he would, which is nearly impossible, literally every person on this planet could have been sitting one time behind this IP. Friends..., visitors, relatives, the pope, Elvis, hahaha, just forget it! This landlord lies so much, that the golden gate bridge is bending. As all here said: forget even the police. Forget interpol. Hahaha. This man seems to need a mental health institution and maybe a serious AR-slap for his harassment. Inform your friends that they should not panic. And use the hints here from friendly people, to get your content back. Linden support ticket should be the best way and hopefully fast in this case. And as one said: do not tell the whole story to the Lindens. Just where your content is, that you have not longer access to the region and ask polite for send the prims back to you. More is not to do. Good luck and no panic!

O.o ??? Start with the fact that your landlord there was about as incoherent as they come... Definitely in the dazed and confused category. Link this one to the topic here: /327/9b/331942/1.htmlAnd yep... There is nothing more to your security in renting estate land than the personal whims of your landlord. You are essentially screwed.

re prims
07-27-2009 15:01
From: Sammie Waffle I am renting a island, rent 27,200 a month been living there with my bf and some friends 6 month with out any problems.
Hi I am not sure what prims you got for that amount of money, but on mainland for eample we rent out half sim for 7750 and they have 7500 prim. Any decent landlord would set up a prim counter so you are aware of what you are using.

There are some countries that do have laws about virtual theft, but from what I have read about past cases, it involves things like stealing top level WoW stuff, or things that are able to be sold for real money.
Using extra prims from a virtual island would NOT qualify. Furthermore you are subject to the laws of YOUR nation, not the landlord's.
They threatened to report you to LL? I hope they will be looked at for trying to extort money off of you with threats, in return.
Above all they could've been a lot nicer. That is NO way to treat anyone, let alone someone that has been a tenant/customer for a long time. Whatever she wanted to deal with that was not the way to do (or say) it!

Not a very smart move i agree, why would he want to drive off a stable rental income of 27500 per month? Especially when renters don't come easy nowadays....

I strongly recommend Strunk and White's "Elements of Style" for all land barons. http://www.amazon.com/Elements-Style-50th-Anniversary/dp/0205632645/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1248766500&sr=8-1You might be capricious, aristocratic and overbearing; that is all completely understandable. But for god's sake, you should at least type coherently!

If someone can't spell "fined" I don't think "Elements of Style" will help.

Wow! Just...
Wow!
Any chance your landlord's account was hacked by an eight-year-old?
