Ok......I have resisted the idea of ever going back to mainland for land because my experiences were always less then ideal. Lag lag lag.....crap crap crap all around....I just gave it up. But, given my new project and the fact that I really really should maintain an in-world shop.....I'm thinking of going to mainland and just getting myself the 512 piece I'm due with my account. (yeah yeah, still premium here....but whatever....it's cheap enough that I may as well stay that way)..... So.....knowing you guys are all over the grid.....and many of you are creators with shops.......have you got any suggestions for decent mainland areas to look for land? I'd rent if I can find a great deal....but since I can do 512 for no tier....it seems like the way to go to have a permanant shop. Thoughts?

There's a really ugly parcel next to me in Loepa; might ask the owner if he's willing to cut it.

You can pickup a 512 for less than L$2,000, it really depends upon what you want. Some of the ugly looking places would be fine if you want a skybox store or home, especially sims where parcel cutters have been at their worst, it puts people off buying so the sims are often not that busy.

Ok....hijacked already.....LOL I KNOW the prices because I've been out looking already.....I was looking for suggestions for areas that are not a total mess. I don't really want to go the skybox route.....only because I don't want a huge shop so I'm going to be able to make it more appealing visually if it's on the ground. I tiny little skybox would just be sorta goofy. The other thing I'm looking at is more hip shopping areas to rent a shop......I'm really bummed that Ethereality got sold because she had such a cool little shopping square set up and there was at least one available last I had checked.....then she sold it...ugh lol. anywho....if anyone has any suggestions pertaining to my actual question, would be mucho appreciated.

You dont say what sort of store/content...but if any is adult inclined then take a rain check unless you need a parcel in hope of a free move should you qualify.
The mainland today will be a totally different landscape once the AO hits the fan so maybe find an area more PG in content if you fit in and dont want change. If price is a consideration they will soon be rock bottom with the glut of empty mature mainland. L$1600 will get you 512 mature before the bots do.

Very true Story~!!! (great book~!!) I think I'm just going to go ahead and throw a little shack on the back side of the bluff on my island and call it good. At least that way I don't have to worry so much about the mature issues. I can can keep my skin ads pg easily enough..... And, it'll save my L's in the long run.

I'm on Badger, in Sansara, one of the 2 oldest continents, and aside from an ugly sign on a store thats far enough away my draw distance doesn't even see it, it's a lovely sim. As are most in that part of the grid. Personally, I love mainland. I like to hop on my bike and explore the roads, or go sailing. I'd get claustrophobic on an island estate.

I still love the water sim of Warbluster. Several reasonably priced 512's on it atm.
