Hi!

Recently I been having a problem with my pants, and boots.

When I put on my pants, they go all the way down to the toes like stockings. If I put a pair of boots on next, the color of my pants turn to a shade similar to the boots I'm wearing.

Any ideas on what I should do to fix this would be appreciated.

Sounds like it might be the palletized textures problem.

Can't tell much more without knowing more about your system, such as, what version of SL, what video drivers, to start with.

Advanced, Rendering, Features, uncheck Palletized Textures, rebake your avatar.

You might need to change your driver. Can't really say without system info.

The "Palletized Textures" option in Advanced Rendering Features has been removed in RC 1.22.x

Presumably it's been removed because it someone thinks the problem has been solved.

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7957 claims to have fixed the problem that has caused so many depressingly repetitious threads about socks that go up to their head and unremovable underwear and other such graphics glitches.

Note that there are many other problems in the latest release so one might want to check out what those problems are before assuming that they can just run the RC 1.22.4 to escape from this or other problems in the release (normal regular) viewer.

Here's the workaround in the last comment from that jira issue:

WORKAROUND: Disable (uncheck) Advanced->Rendering->Features->"Palettized Textures" in the advanced menu (ctrl + alt + 'D') and rebake your avatar (Ctrl + Alt + 'R'). You may need to re-wear your clothing that is misbehaving and rebake yet again if at first try it doesn't solve the issue. Note: It may take a little bit for the server to refresh your baked textures if there are lots of avatars around or the sim is laggy.

For some folks, using an older driver in the 175 series seems to solve this problem and not cause other worse ones. I'm not sure that's an option with the very latest nVidia models.

I'd just like to say I am sick to death of this bug. I am so tired of seeing people report this problem and tired of writing "Advance Rendering Features Uncheck Palletized Texture". I think I've even got the keystroke memorized without ever having used it. I will be glad to see this one go bye-bye.

*test* Having trouble posting. Hmm... I've tried to post to this thread for an hour & it won't let me. Just about as frustrating as putting on those damn boots/shoes & getting them to work right. And NO it's not my updates or my computer. All my friends are having the same problem & we all have different computers in different parts of the country.

Bottom line is that no matter how many excuses ppl make - boots/shoes/pants fitting in SL sucks.

well.. at least there are not many reporting white eyelashes as well... which happens to me...... with one skin only...my gala my favorite skin, the one I been wearing since week 2 on SL. The one I paid 5000L for..... (fat pack)
