What is the problem??
That said, SL is still the most incredible online experience and there's so much to do!
However, making friends can lead to a lot of clicking on "waiting" and "hippos" ...

I've had this problem a lot lately too. I just go directly to my calling cards inventory to see who's online. You can click on the card to IM, also.

earlier today, my friends list was completely empty except the one person, who i happened to have an open IM going with.
my objects folder was empty too. when i cleared my cache, both problems were resolved. _____________________

Here´s a little trick to get rid off that "hippos" and "waiting" and that shows your friendslist complete...
Just uncheck "can see my online status" (or whatever it says precisely ) on one line saying hippos or waiting and check it again. After that your list will be normal - works for me  I also think the friendslist on secondlife.com ™  is borked... shows "you have no friends online at this time" ... Next minute after refreshing it shows 4 friends (always the same ones!) then again noone... Also showed a friend online that´s no longer on my list lol./me wonders when they will ever be able to solve this... yawn |

Until recently I had a bugged inventory item for a few months that caused me to have to clear my cache before I was able to log in without crashing. During that time, with the 1.19 viewers I never had a working friends list. Once I fixed the problem I was able to log in without clearing my cache, and only ever have a borked friends list if I clear my cache before logging in. _____________________

Clearing my cache is a easy route to losing my friends list at the mo. Otherwise it's 50/50 whether it loads of not. Is LL aware of this bug? |

I'd like "People who only ever IM you when they want something/their friends list is empty and they are bored/horny/out of antipsychotics and planning to kill themselves and who don't care when you are down in return, and care even less if you are actually happy". There's a lot of those people on my list unfortunately. I might be assertive and even ascerbic here but I am actually very gentle at heart. I'd also like this button for friends (this time not just being bitter): "Talented people I really enjoy talking to/sharing ideas with/creating with". Even more tho, I'd like not to have a load of hippos bored and waiting. I'd also like to CHOOSE who I see a notification of online status for instead of everyone (and it resetting my inventory). Don't want much do I? _____________________

1.19.1.3 is starting to trickle out and one of the release note entries claims that this bug is fixed. I only see this problem intermittently so can't really confirm any change from here.

I tried most of the suggestions but the only one that let me know who was the Calling Cards folder ... I've cleared cache over and over, installed each new viewer, etc. but the problem persists in strange ways ... sometimes I log on with Windlight rather than the older viewer and the Friends List is there ...!!! I've found the same problem with the "waiting for region" error and the unhelpful options LL provides ... I log on with other viewer and the region problem doesn't pop up ... ???

This happened to me from the day i updated sl with the last version. The only way for me to see if my friends are online is to use the calling cards, not very practical!
I was so happy to get it back after i uninstalled and reinstalled sl, but it was gone again after i cleared my cache. I'm tired of hippos and waiting! Does somebody have a solution? |
