I got yet another promotional email from LL. I am reasonably sure I tried to opt out the last time they sent me these announcements. The small print blurb at the bottom said that by accepting the TOS I agreed to get these but if I did not want to receine any more to follow the link and unsubscribe.
But is this actually working? Did anyone else opt out the last time as well and still get the spam? Do I wind up on the list every time I have to click through an unenforceable TOS?
Just curious.

Maybe it's one of those sting operations, like the police sending out invitations to meet star athletes and then busting people with outstanding warrants. They send everyone in SL this spam notice for this super ultra high fashion extravaganza, figuring it'll be just too tempting for the content thieves to let pass and they can, I don't know.. ignore them even harder or something.

Every web site/club/organization/store/whatever that I belong to sends 100 times more "Promotion" than LL does. I never understood why they didn't take advantage of this, considering the numbers that could be reached, and the ability to stay in touch with those who simply log in, and are not aware of what's going on.
I welcome more Promotions. A monthly newsletter would be nice. An opt-in for a separate special event promotion would be nice, with daily or weekly announcements. |
