I've been struggling for awhile now with even the simple task of creating my own objects. This is because a few weeks ago SL suddenly afflicted a few people with a bug that caused textures you uploaded yourself to have no transfer permissions, because the wrong person was listed as the creator. They "fixed" the problem, now the objects and textures say "unknown" is the creator of what I paid to upload.
So I still don't get transfer permissions. I have an inventory full of my newest skins and make-up packs that took several hundreds of lindens to upload. I can't do anything with them. The issue is fixed so they say, actually for me it's not solved whatsoever.
I don't have a premium account, I can't get the kind of technical support required. Even though I pay rent to a land owner for my shop who then turns around and pays LL with it...still I'm treated like a second-class citizen.
Luckily, I only began selling my items on both slx and onrez a little while ago. So I only have hundreds of listings to re-do. I will miss my Onrez store front. I was allowed to pick some color, and add a banner of my own.
I currently don't know what vendor I am going to be forced to use because of this {all of my in-world items are listed on the fantastic and easy onrez vendors}. I do know that I won't use an inferior one especially if it's given to me as a replacement for the one I already put so much time in to.
Sales were always better for me on Onrez. Maybe I am lucky the following "bug" happened to keep me from wasting my time making any listings. Too bad it wasted the lindens I earned.

When you upload a new texture does it list you as the creator? I can see how the old ones might still be borked but one would presume new uploads would be ok.

Your problem really has nothing to do with the XStreetSL / Onrez situation does it? Seems to me it's just a straight SL problem.

I can't file a support ticket. No premium account.
When I upload a new texture it lists me as creator, trying to use the texture on a prim or skin results in "unknown" creator. This issue has resolved itself for anything new that I make, but I have about 50 textures permanently cursed in this way.
I'm afraid to re-upload them. I shouldn't -have- to pay for them again. They shouldn't be wasted because of a glitch or server problems.
I guess my title wasn't clear enough, no my bug has nothing to do with xstreet or onrez. But I wanted to bitch about that situation anyway. As well as the bug. A general venting of two vexing and frustrating problems that do happen to stem from Linden Labs. That's about it.

Just re-upload them and call it a day. 50 uploads = $500L = $2.50 usd or thereabouts. It just seems that if the problem is fixed you have nothing to worry about except this $2.50 hurdle.

It's not just re-uploading the textures, it's re-making a few dozen make-up packs stemming from semi-transparent alpha textures used as the base for these products. Each pack once made requires me to take snapshots of each color {16 colors per pack) which I then use in photoshop to create an ad that is uploaded and placed in my shop showing the 16 different colors in the makeup pack.
I will have to re-do all 25 makeup packs which are each made up of 16 seperate colors , 16 snapshots and 1 ad. Hours of work down the tube. Sucks.
For consolation, I tell myself that it's not that much work in comparison to how many listings I have to redo on xstreet and the loss of my vendors.
Ahh well.

/me wonders why you'd do all that work when you knew you had a problem with your uploads.

I didn't discover the problem until the next day. It was a very odd glitch, I remember going around and checking my stuff in my store and even some of the stuff there had a different creator, things I had made months ago. Luckily, that's resolved. There's just the makeup packs and some skins and textures that are stuck on unknown creator.

From: Jadis Landar *snip* Each pack once made requires me to take snapshots of each color {16 colors per pack) which I then use in photoshop to create an ad that is uploaded and placed in my shop showing the 16 different colors in the makeup pack. *snip* *scratches head tiredly* I'm going to assume that you saved all your textures on your hard-drive. If this is true, the only hours you lost is the uploading the textures, applying them to the desired surfaces and saving them. You shouldn't have to remake each texture... I hope. Fortunately, XStreet's magic boxes are more forgiving of having items removed and then re-added. It's still intensely frustrating, and I've ground my teeth more than once when dealing with SL's lovable little 'glitches.' Heck, I've learned new curse words just for SL!

Yes, the original textures are still on my hard-drive. What I lost is any textures I saved that were created using the original textures. Like say I uploaded a texture where the lips are transparent...so that when you edit appearance you could change the lip color to whatever you want. I save different colors that way and I lost the makeup packs and ads made using the snapshots of those makeups. As in, when I make new makeup packs to replace the old ones, theres no way to get every color so exact that the ad would still be relevant. So that will have to be redone as well. I'm sorry if I'm being confusing, I make skins you see.

From: Jadis Landar ...I have an inventory full of my newest skins and make-up packs that took several hundreds of lindens to upload. I can't do anything with them. The issue is fixed so they say, actually for me it's not solved whatsoever... Hmmm... I actually dont understand. I make skins this way too with transparent parts so you can change the colors of eyebrows and liptone. What I dont get is that the 'makeupsettings' then should be in the SKIN itself because its the makeup-sliders that changes the liptone... So if you have 'an inventory full of new skins' you should not have to redo the ads... Just retexture the skins with the same textures - now 'transfer' - and the makeupcolour should be the same? I know thats a BIG job but you shouldnt have to redo the ads..? If you cant do that the only reason I could think of is that you didnt save the files you uploaded (TGA's I guess) on your drive... THEN u have a problem. Or did I misunderstand?
