Well, my son was walking by the computer and asked me what I was playing, I told him, and he asked how to make an account. I took him to the page and put his age in (3/29/93) and it asked for PayPal or Cell Phone, does this mean that mean you have to pay for Teen Second Life?

You don't not have to Pay to Play Teen Second Life ...those are only used to check the age and the Teen....

But about the only thing you can do on the Teen grid for free is build ... which will give him a head start when he turns 18 ..

Also if anyone out there know Good Fun places in Teen Second Life could you Post them..

Pretty Please ..

Thanks

My son turned 13 in December and I signed him up that day. We used his cell phone number to verify and he has a basic account.

Doesn't TSL have its own forums? Not because I care if there are threads about it here, it just seems like a glaring oversight if there isn't.

TSL have forums, you just can't access them unless you're a teen. (For some reason.)

I've just recently transfered from the Teen Grid and I was a Teen Second Life resident from 2006 to 2008. Currently, if you're a UK teen you have to contact Linden Lab support to set you up with a basic account on the Teen Grid. You won't need to pay any fees, but you will need to provide them with some age verification details, such as ID or copy of your passport to register.

You cannot use either Mobile phone method or PayPal method if you're outside of the U.S
Sorry, Mobile Phone identification is only available in the United States and Canada.
Please use PayPal instead.

Teen Second Life (Teen Grid) does have Forums, yes it's only for Teen Residents (13-17 year olds). TSL Forums for me was a great resource for Q&A and to learn new stuff. Everything on the Teen Grid is at a much smaller scale and there are 218 teen regions on the Teen Grid, as from December 2008.

For places to visit in TSL, check out my Teen Grid photo collection with over 7,000 snapshots of various cool hangouts, new resident areas and all things TG.

My latest TG Showcase places tab - Abit outdated, but some places are still running! :)

I hope this helps! :)
Feel free to friendship with me in-world for more information. :D

Thanks for those great pics Daniel! I thought the one with the dodgeball game looked fun and does anyone know if that game can be purchased anywhere on the main grid? I looked on XStreetSL but it didn't come up in search. Thanks in advance.

Crazy, it's like a little porthole into another world. I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks it's strange. What do you guys do in the teen grid? Do you have clubs, DJs, sploders, zyngo, RP sims, nekos, vampires, etc? I bet there's no bloodlines! lol

I imagine the money doesn't flows quite as freely, but do you guys give tips out? What do you do in the teen grid other than build and chat? I suppose SLexchange doesn't function on the teen grid?

Is "shoot first ask questions later" mentality in existance? Like, if I were 14 y/o "Billy" and I AR'd "Johnny John" for building a prim penis in a sandbox (but I was lying cuz he pissed me off)... is Billy screwed?

Sorry for all the questions, lol.

One more.... did someone bring the "hoo" gesture into teen SL? >_>

God... it must be like jumping in a cold pool face first going from teen SL to the main grid. Just the content matter alone is shockingly different, what with sexsexsexsex everywhere (NOT that that is all all there is :P).

Good questions Scott, I'd like to hear the answers to that too. Also, if teens can earn lindens there, can they also cash out? Thanks in advance.

@Scott: Yes, the big jump from the Teen Grid to the Main Grid was strange for me in the first few weeks of the transfer and stepping into the adult world is very different, :D. From my personal experience, the teen grid is a very small community with some awesome creators and landmarks to visit. Yes, we had a few active clubs, no DJs (live radio streams), RP sims x2, 12 teen resident sims + 215 TSL regions), loads of combat areas (78% of the grid was full of bases) and there was vampire teen groups. >_>

The Teen Grid money flow is very low when I was there, there was no tips that I can remember of. I don't think SLexchange worked on the TG, showcase tab was broken (only listed 5 random places). Teens did love to do combat, explore, visit TSL Linden Lab office hours, create amazing builds, script all day long, shout on voice and take part in many educational projects & programs.

No, I did not see anyone bring over the "hoo" gesture into teen SL. It's good that I've been part of the two grids because many residents don't experience that.

@Eanya: I'm glad you liked my snapshots of the Teen Grid, I was the only one that kept record of TG events and happening over there. I inspired a few to take over, but I'm not sure how well they are doing with that, whahaha. Not sure about the dodgeball game on the MG, I imagine there would be somewhere, LOL. Teens can earn money and cash out too. Everything really you can do on the MG, you can do on the TG except for the mature stuff that is etc.

If you have any more questions about the Teen Grid, post them and I'll reply ASAP or just IM me in-world. :)
