I've never seen anything like it. I had an IM from a customer today. She said that SL returned some items to her, including 3 that she bought from me (2 sofas and a fireplace). The items' prims were still linked but jumbled up, and 1 prim was missing from each - the prim that had the script. I replaced the items and then went off to deal with an object that SL had returned to me while I was offline. I rezzed it, and it's exactly like the customer's items were - script prim missing, and the remaining prims jumbled up.
Has anyone seen that before?

Has anyone seen that before? That happened to me recently. I had picked up a 2 prim stool out of my sim, it disappeared on the take, but never ended up in my inventory. So I figured, oh well, content loss. went on with my life. A few days later the sim was restarted due to a rolling restart, and upon restart, poof, the stool was returned to my inventory with an odd message (so odd I pasted it into my profile): [22:12] Second Life: Your object 'S-L Bar Stool' has been returned to your inventory lost and found folder from parcel 'Caldwell Properties - Hypnos' at Hypnos -9.9e-05, -0.000493 because it went off-world. When I rezzed, it, my 2 prim stool was only 1 prim, the one that didn't have the scripts and animations. The other prim has never been recovered. O.o

Not that, but I've had something similarly confusing happen. I sell a certain scripted device, and on 2 separate occasions when the customer bought it (bought the contents of a single prim, no vendors or other complications) they got all the prims but the root prim had only *some* of the scripts and animations and such that it was supposed to. Same stuff missing in both cases, months apart.
OK, yeah, this has pretty much nothing to do with Phil's issue except to demonstrate that SL can mess up asset transactions in really weird inscrutable ways.

I've had a few similar things to that recently - people receiving a folder with the object's contents in it, but not the object itself. And that's when buying a Copy of the object - not the Contents.

I took my radio into my Inv recently, and I noticed it didnt go to the folder i had set it out from. SL ate the center prim with the script in it, but left the rest fairly ok. It had been renamed to Object.

I had somehting similar happen a few months back with two buildings I had purchased
After every rolling restart half of one of the buildings and the entire second building would disappear and be returned to my inventory as a jumbled mixed up combo pile of prims, none of the scripted bits like doors, teleporters etc would be removed from the sim, they weould remain behind.
Got so mad at it I just deleted both buildings and rebuild the place using different stuff after filing 4 reports on it and getting the usual refresh your cache etc etc messages from the folks at LL.

A scripted fruit bowl that I own, was returned to me in pieces, minus the bowl prim, which contained the script. It was returned due to parcel autoreturn, from a parcel on the other side of the sim. And finally... It Wasn't Even REZZED IN WORLD!! Max

And finally... It Wasn't Even REZZED IN WORLD!! That's interesting, because I've no idea where the item that was returned to me came from. There's only ever been one of them rezzed (it was created only a couple of weeks ago), and it's still rezzed - and fine. I can't check if it came from my inv, because I often don't take copies of new things for a while, and I may or may not have taken a copy of it. It was returned from the SW corner of the sim (0.311203, -0.057602) which I also own, and not from the parcel in the same sim where it was created and has been ever since. Judging by this thread, it doesn't look as though it's anything new, so it can't be put down to one if the recent server updates - unfortunately.

Well, my problem happened this past week, and there have been so many sim server updates and rollbacks I wonder if LL even knows what code is deployed across the grid? Max

Sounds like my swan, now an ex-swan. It was the deluxe black swan from Animania, and one day was swimming happily in my pond at home, the next, in gruesome pieces. Its neck and some other body parts appeared in my inv, whereas its little legs were still paddling around in the pond. Most gruesome; most odd.

had that happen a while ago....2-3 weeks ago...got the "your item has gone offword"...went to the market that it happened at, and found out about 1/2 the sim had just randomly disappeared, product wise....they had to request a rollback to get it back to normal.

I asked live help, and the person wasn't aware of such a bug, so I opened a Jira about it - http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2215
