Ok. Need some opinions of what to do here. I went to one of my parcels today.. to find someone put a circular road through it. Not LL, but a "neighbor". She is there building something when I went there, and I asked her nicely to remove the road. It is one prim and I guess the main part of it isn't on my land, so I can't return it to her. So I asked her nicely again. Instead of answering, she disappears. Then comes back and plays this game for a while. Then, as pleasantly as I could, tell her I'm not leaving until she removes it. Still ignores me. So I walk right up to her avatar and tell her that I'm trying to be nice about this.. and still just acts like I'm not there.

Now, I looked at their profile. This person has been here as long as I have, so they are not ignorant to the rules of common curtesy, or at least I would hope...

To be honest, this is really burning my cookies at this point >:-/

So any suggestions short of AR'ing this person?

It is just possible that she actually *is* ignoring you, by having you Muted--and that could even be by accident. And if that's the case, you can't get to her directly, but perhaps you could enlist a third party (another neighbor?) to ask her nicely what's going on.

Yeah, if all else fails, there's the AR route, but it's not likely to foster neighborhood comity, so it would be a lot easier if there were a "nice" way to resolve it. A little subtle peer pressure from other neighbors might get the desired result.

When someone walks right up to you, you don't generally just stay quiet though. It's possible you have her muted though (View / Mute List would sort that out).

If you think she may have muted you then that's easy enough to find out as well: write everything up in a notecard and when you're certain she's online, drop it on her. If you get an *instant* decline then you're muted, anything else means you're not muted.

I would just go through live chat and/or a support ticket to have it removed as well, it tends to be faster than an AR and it won't be ignored as easily.

No. She just tried to talk to me. It was difficult as she speaks Spanish, and I don't.. but she refuses to remove it. My translator doesn't work for what she is saying??? Something about calling the road a "bandage". What does that mean??? Anybody speak English/Spanish who could help here? Argh. I would much rather settle this amicably then sicking the Lindens on her.

I told her, in the best SPanish I could, that I'm not leaving until she removes it.. She just walked away and went back to building.. WTH???

I'm not inworld anymore or I'd ask for you :(.

Tp to Help Island Public and get a hold of a mentor and ask if they can put out a call for a Spanish speaking mentor on the group to help mediate/translate the dispute.

(Less convenient, but a list of Spanish speaking volunteers: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Spanish_speaking_Volunteers )

If you have no luck asking her to remove it, then you are justified in ARing the object.

or

just build something on top of it, since it is your land, like oh I don't know a huge colour changing box or something. (but make sure you keep it on your land)

or

play around with the ground level, bury the item, or make it float in mid air.

All of these things have given me great results in having items removed in the past when a polite request has failed. Usually option 2 or 3 works quicker than option 1 though.
