XStreet non-deliveries

I realized this morning that I purchased a couple of items through XStreel this weekend that were never delivered. I now have to ask for redeliveries on those items.

Since I (normally) sell quite a lot on XStreet, and I do not want to cause my own customers any inconvenience, I just redelivered every item I sold from Friday evening until Sunday evening.

I would rather deliver a few items twice than to have even one customer not get their item. After all, it was not their fault that the grid was in the cesspool all weekend.

Does anyone else feel the same way I do? Or am I just overly zealous when it comes to keeping happy customers?

No I think you have the right idea.I tend to send items again myself if things are borked.
On the misdelivery subject I just found an email in my spam folder from SL advising me about new Boxes that are available to cut delivery error.

Thousands of sims were either inaccessable or messed up this weekend. If the sim where your "Magic Box" is located was among the messed up sims, you got non-deliveries, or failed order attempts.

On Monday I still had some residual problems, where x-street accepted an order, but didn't deliver it promptly. I am not sure yet if there are remaining issues, or if that was just a non-typical delay.

Log on to x-street and check your sales history, and it will show you anything that is messed up.

The items that I did not receive myself show as having been delivered by XStreet. So I don't trust their stats.

Great customer service and I am sure one that will reap rewards with people coming back to you because they know you care :)

I wish more vendors thought like the original poster here.

I noticed items I bought over the weekend failing to show up for several hours. I guess when they finally did show was not the system doing it automatically, but vendors like you?

Fortunately nothing missed. After the first few failures, I stopped using xstreet and started buying only from vendors for items I was standing next to (did a lot of shopping over the weekend - now that I've settled into my new av, I'm being more willing to enhance her wardrobe. used to hold back a lot thinking I would eventually do just what I did - drop an av who's name I never liked and start over).

for copy items I don't have a problem redelivering.

For transfer items I'll check with XSL when I have a delivery failure - they can now peek into the inventory to see if it was an actual failure or if it was just the delivery message timing out.

There's also issues around people being in busy mode or having their IMs capped.

before the takeover XSL used to suspend purchases when SL was playing up. I notice that LL have dropped that.

The best advice is to not use XSL when the platform is dodgy and if you do have a failure then contact xsl support. Simply because they should be made aware of the issues and remediate them. That's part of the service they provide for taking their commission.

Of course the best thing to do is to go window shopping on xsl and then go buy the item inworld. You put more money in the pocket of the vendor and get a chance to see the item close up before you buy.

I do wish they would reinstate this policy. I often buy things on XStreet while on break at work and have no idea that SL is borked at that moment.

We have a delivery status note after buying on our site that informs the customer straight away if delivery cannot be made, they can then cancel the sale and get their L$'s back straight away or leave it pending until the sim comes back online and delivery will then be made when the sim is active again automatically.

If it's a discontinued policy, there must be a reason for discontinuing it. My guess is that since LL collects the commission for the sales, but customers blame the merchants for non-deliveries, there is no need for the policy as far as LL is concerned.
