Hiya all =)

Does any one know if the photo's used on the login page for SL itself are locations in SL or just made up photo's to make the login page nice look nice.

If they are locations in SL, does any one know where they are?

Im after going to the one were the girl and boy are dancing in the forest...looks so beautiful =)

They are obviously made in SL, but whether some of them have been set up just for the photos and then dismantled, I don't know.

and the one with tilting boat is at Locos Pocos, a store selling cartoons-like skin/shape. I wish they would put the name of the place on the pic :D

Someone told me... I am not sure its true :)

While some users know ways how to disable the login pictures those pictures are just impressions for newbies - just to show that there are some dreamy environments hidden anywhere in SecondLife.

So when the noob arrives in one of those horror welcome areas this impression is hopefully still in her/his mind (maybe still in front of the eyes - lol) saving the noob from a virtual heart attack.

I agree.

To the OP: I've been to a number of those locations, and they are inworld. You may have to take some work to get them to look that good (windlight use especially), but they are out there. Locos Pocos, Photon Pinks, Chakryn, Primitive City are all ones I see fairly often on the login screen.

they may be worried that they would get pounded with calls to have pics on the login..
that or they don't want it as a sim advertisement..
who knows..but they were a nice addition when they first started using them..i loved the winter scenes

I have been going nUtZ trying to find the sim with the "railway yard" its the one with the train tracks and had the reddish over tone to it. I thing the lighting of that pic was fantastic.......does anyone know where that sim is??

My favourite was the holiday one of the car with the Christmas tree . . . that was from AM Radio's The Refuge, now gone gone gone . . .

I wish they'd have a page somewhere listing what the photos are and where they were taken. I'd also like to know if someone took them all for that page, or pulled them off an SL flickr group at random, or what.

I think allot of the appeal of those pics are the camera angle and the windlight settings. I could show you hundreds of places in world that look as good of those images, with the right windlight setting and from the right angle of course.

Thank you Skell...............I didn't know that even existed with Torley. I think the region with the railway is gone as I used the info to get to it, but it did not exist *sighs*. But that is an excellent link you gave , as the photography is awesome.

I tried that link for the trains but it did not work,shame.I have been keen to see that place and have checked most of the train locations in search but never found it.

Why show these places if you can,t find them.
