Any possible problem with copyright on the next example: I run gamming place in SL (zyngo and other) My REGION name is brand which exist in RL and is dealing with board games or something like that. One day I might own entire sim and would that be possible name infrigment because I run kinda similar activity? I did not named a sim, is mainland sim.
Thanks for answers.

Best to avoid any possible infringement. LL recently forced a sim to change its name.

I agree. Thats why I'm asking. btw mentioned brand is: "Sim Name Games" not only "Sim Name". I'm not using "Sim Name" as my brand (I have other one) and I can't change sim name. Just bought land in that sim.

Hi Pinos, I think I understand ...
You are on a mainland sim named by LL and the name happens to be the same as a RL board games company? If this is the case, I'd say that it's not your responsibility to worry about copyright or trademarks. Any case brought would be against LL, not you.

You definitely cannot use a real life copyrighted name. You will be doing a name search before you settle on a name anyway. Also search the name you want in SL search to save from drama.
