When I search All for my name I find a wiki page listed where I made a comment.

I'd like to have my user page show up.

How do you get your wiki user page to show up in All search results?

So, no one that knows how businesses are indexed and ranked by the Google search system has the slightest clue as to Second Life Wiki pages are treated by it?

I don't know anything about the wiki so I wanted to let someone else figure it out :p.

It doesn't look anyone's standard user page makes it into the search which kind of makes me feel like it could be intended that way by LL? :confused:

Anyway, three did list and they all used the same technique:
* create a page http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SuezanneC_Baskerville
* the contents of that page should be:
#redirect [[User:SuezanneC_Baskerville]]

Wait a few days and see if it worked :).

(If it didn't work, you may need to sneak a link to http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SuezanneC_Baskerville on a wiki page that's currently being indexed to make sure the crawler finds it)

seems to me Mari created her page on the SL wiki, you may want to ask her. It was an interesting read and well written.

I've followed your (Kitty's) suggestion, just for the heck of it.

Supposing one owned a store in SL they wanted to appear at the top of the search rankings.

Second Life Wiki pages are returned by the All Search function when the category is Any.

Supposing one sold couches. What could one do to make their wiki page appear high in the search results list when the search term was couch?

What in the content of a wiki page would affect how high it appears in the All search results?

If I added the words for everything people search for in SL would that make the page rank higher?

Can you advertise your business in the wiki? I recall being opposed to this back when the previous wiki existed. People did start advertising there but no one used that old wiki much so it didn't make too much difference.
