Someone sending chat with your name

I was doing a gig tonite and someone started saying offensive statements about one of the ladies there making it look like I was saying it, in open chat. How can I dentify the person doing that? Pretty sure I figured out who it was and banned him from the sim.

You need something that listens to objects such as mystitool, that will show the object owners name.

Was the chat in white? If not, it was a scripted object.

With the Emerald viewer, and possibly with others, you can click on what looks like you're name at the start of the chat and it will pop up a thing that shows you who/what was doing it..

There are actually instructions in the official SL guide "Scripting Your World" on how to create such a script and object.

Go figure, eh? :eek:

Alternatively, I offer free an attachment called Who Said That? which identifies both the name and UUID of the speaker and the owner of the speaker provided the speaking avatar or object is in chat range. This is useful both for banning and for filing ARs. It is available on XStreet or at my shop in-world. Did I mention it is free?

actually my name was green but the chat was white
