Is there anyway to change my avatar, not the appearance, but to completely change my choice I chose when I created my account to another avatar?

Welcome to the forums  I think what you are asking is if you can start a new account? Yes. Yes you can. This is what people refer to as an 'alt', meaning an alternate account. The uses are pretty diverse, and there was a whole thread on what people do with their alts very recently. If you go to the SL main webpage and log out (if you're logged in), you should be able to find the link for signing up.

thank you for any help provided. I'm not sure what you mean, but if you want to change your name, you have to make an alt. If you want to change your sex, you go into edit appearance, though a guy named Isabela would be a bit of a giveaway that you aren't.

Every last thing except your name can be changed.
But for me, it was the name I wanted to change, so this avatar is only a month and a half old, unlike my original 2006 avatar.

Hi Isabela,and welcome to Second Life.
Unless I'm reading your post wrong...except for a new name...you can change your avatar to anything you can imagine.
Just look up avatars in search and you can purchase a new avatar...be it a furry one, a fish, a superhero,robot,etc...the list goes on.
I have at least six different avatars in my inventory of which I can change to in a few seconds( if SL isn't glitched..heheh).
And you can find some free avatars to try out at freebie places.
As I said earlier ...the only thing you can't change is the name you chose. To do that you do have to open a new account.

Or you can even go into the Library in your inventory and use the avatars there. They are kept in the folder called "Clothing." Right click on an avtar folder and select "replace outfit." Most of the avatars there are human males and females, but there is also a dragonlet by grendel's children. Grendel's children is a great place for non-human avatars, BTW, and there are freebies and near-freebies there.
