I about live in an RP and was wondering if there is anything to stop radar form picking you up at all?

Gets tiring that people use radar all the time even though its not allowed.

"Not allowed" in the RP, one presumes.

Assuming "radar" refers to scripted sensors, then the landowner could turn off scripts, but this would only defeat folks (or scripters) who don't know the "loophole" for that, and that would be more likely to defeat "RP desirable" attachments than radars.

So, short answer: no, there's no way to stop radar from picking you up. Unless you're a Linden, I guess.

I guess you could sort of "hide" by using animations that displace your avatar some distance from your agent, so the radar would sense the agent location, but the avatar would appear to be somewhere else. That doesn't sound very practical, though.

Anyway, those who use radar will certainly use the mini-map, that is not allowed in many RP's too.

Unfortunately, you have to trust the other players in not using any of these. To me, entering a RP and than sheat is throwing away half the fun, but ever there are those that just want to "win".

On turning scripts off, the Mysti Tools radar works ever.

Yes, you just have to manage to get the last name "Linden" - so apply for a job at the Lab...

The Lindens use some kind of attachment to make them sensor-proof. I found this out during some testing when one of them removed all attachments, and suddenly appeared on my Mysti. I 'confirmed' it later when another who was on my Mysti mentioned that he never wore any attachments. I'd bet there's some super-secret gizmo that they get when they get hired, and most of them always wear it...

Would love to find out how that worked and what other things can be done. ;)

Its actually just the GOD mode that, when activated, turns them invisible to the llSensor() function. They CAN however be tracked using other functions such as llGetObjectDetails()

Needless to say the GOD mode is only available to Lindens, so the little attachement that turns it on/off (very easy to make btw) is no use for you.

It is not an attachment and is built into the viewer. To enter God Mode you send a request to the simulator and your key needs to be in the approved list. When you are in God Mode you are no longer an AGENT and so will not show up in radar which uses a Sensor event. Sensors can only detect AGENT, ACTIVE, PASSIVE and or SCRIPTED; not an AGENT so you don't show up.

At one point anyone could enter God Mode with a hacked viewer. The remnants can still be seen under the Advanced menu as "Hacked Godmode" in the beta viewers and several others.

The function you're thinking of is llGodLikeRezObject, the only function that only works if the script is owned by a Linden.

It rezzes an object by key, essentially yanking that object out of the asset database wherever it is, so you can rez anything from anyone's inventory, or copy in-place an item from the world, etc. Needless to say there's good reasons it's only for debugging SL ;)

A piece that might make some think you are in God Mode -- if you have "View Admin Status" turned on and then you send a TP to someone, the TP says "God summons you to xxxx" or something to that effect.

Well, I just report what I've observed, which was xxxx Linden didn't appear on my Mysti radar, then he said "I'm taking off my attachments" and then after all his attachments were off (that I could see) he did appear on my radar. Meanwhile yyyy Linden was on my Mysti whenever I saw him, and later he mentioned that he never wore any attachments. Hence, my conclusion that whatever hides them from radar is in a Lindeneum-powered attachment. :)

I just had to try this one out. I found it only says 'God summon' on your screen -- your friend won't see that. You're friend gets a normal TP that has your name on it. :)

Oh rats. I never thought to check what the other person saw - bummer.

minor detail: godlikerez is not the only linden exclusive scripting, there's also two that pertain to setting permissions ;)
