A few low prim SIM questions

Hi,

I got a few questions about open space/low prim SIMs. I checked the knowledge base already and it seems like one of my questions is answered there - looks like they can't be attached via corners but need to share a side with the full prim SIM or another low prim SIM from the 4pack? Did anyone try to attach them to a corner spot?

Terrain. They are delivered as pure water but can be terraformed. Can terrain raw files be uploaded (and different ones for each of the 4)?

Estate. Knowledge base recommends that all 4 should be held in the same estate - does that need to be the same estate as the full prim SIM they are attached too?

Estate settings. Do settings like "estate manager", "access" and "ban" effect all 4 from the 4pack or are they handled individually for each one?

Thanks in advance :-)

I believe that was suggested because if transfered they must all be transfered together. but AFAIK they can be held seperate from other estates, not 100% sure if they can be placed 1water sim + 1estate sim, but believe so... I think the whole 'must be connected to another sim' is just protection to keep people from being scammed.

they should still act like any other sim for estate purposes

the raw file thing... no clue, not having purchased a new sim I've never looked into the process of dealing with new raw files for sims... I imagine it'd be the same process as for changing the raw for any other sim though (which I believe has a surcharge?)

No, you can upload a terrain file at no additional cost, heck, you can change it every day, hehe :-)

* ... looks like they can't be attached via corners but need to share a side with the full prim SIM or another low prim SIM from the 4pack?

Correct. You must be able to travel from one to another. But the Openspaces sims *can* connect to each other in a long line, if you want. as long as each of them either connects to your normal sim or one of the connected Openspaces sims.

* Terrain. They are delivered as pure water but can be terraformed. Can terrain raw files be uploaded (and different ones for each of the 4)?

They function in all ways exactly like a normal sim for terraforming. Seperate 'raw files are fine. Take a look at the Amarin Island sim (a normal sim). The other 4 Amarin sims are all low-prim, and together with Amarin Island they form a contiguous 5-sim island. I did that by uploading .raw files.

* Estate. Knowledge base recommends that all 4 should be held in the same estate - does that need to be the same estate as the full prim SIM they are attached too?

That is the recommended practice, yes. They need to be transferred as a group of 4 if you ever sell them. They also need to be attached to one of your existing sims, so placing them in the same Estate as that sim makes the most sense.

* Estate settings. Do settings like "estate manager", "access" and "ban" effect all 4 from the 4pack or are they handled individually for each one?

Bans and access are handled individually. Each is a full sim with its own access and ban lists. I have added a person to one sim in a pack of 4 Openspaces sims, and they were only added to that one sim. I believe assigning Estate Managers is also dealt with individually, but I am not certain there.

Correct. You must be able to travel from one to another. But the Openspaces sims *can* connect to each other in a long line, if you want. as long as each of them either connects to your normal sim or one of the connected Openspaces sims.

This implies you can put an OS sim at the corner of a normal sim, as long as the other two spots are also filled, e.g.

OS OS
OS Normal

This may or may not create the desired effect, but it sounds like it is an option.
