I have 3 Linden palms ("Palm 1" model) on a pair of linked prims. I can move two of them but I can't move the third one. When I do it moves back to the original position. I just rezzed it there out of the Library and tried to move it. I looked quickly and I don't see that it's Locked (and I'm not in world now so I can't check again), can anything else cause this? It probably is locked and I missed it, but just as a learning opportunity I thought I'd ask. Thanks, Jackie

If it's snapping back to the original position, you are trying to move it into an area that you don't have perms to rez in possibly because you forgot to wear the right tag? That's always been the case when that happened to me anyway, I was trying to pull something across a parcel line and had on the wrong tag, and the object was owned by a different one of my groups other than the tag I was wearing. In other words (simpler words?) the group tag and the land parcel that I was trying to pull the object into didn't match.

I could possibly be overlapping onto the neighbor's parcel! Uh, oh. Bet the whole garden platform is in L&F when I get back there! Jackie

I used to see that problem with Linden palm trees when I used to rent out skyboxes with a beach on top. The renters couldn't move them, even though they were set to allow that. I can't guarantee that having the group tag on would have worked though, but I do remember it as being very peculiar when they could move the other things.

I think what was happening was that when I moved it out it was possibly crossing the property line, because when I chopped 3m off the edge of the platform and rerezzed the palm it would not move inwards as far as I liked, so I think it was bumping into the other palm tree on the nearest corner. Could that be it? Jackie.

I have the right group tag...thanks. Jackie

If the land belongs to a group, check the Group Abilities and look under Parcel Content and see if you have the ability enabled for "Landscaping using Linden Plants".

This one caught me a while ago using an alt that was wearing the group tag but was not allowed this specific ability and from what I remember, what you describe is what happened with me. (well, the Other Me).

Sometimes things in SL just do not work as they should, sometimes briefly, sometimes permanently broken. I've had occasional prim refusal to move position, snapping back to it's original position on land I own with something I own. When it happened, I gave up and tried later, and it worked fine. It's frustrating though when you're trying to work on a project and have limited time to complete it.
