omg my magic box :(

a customer made a purchase on xstreet then messaged me that she got an empty box. I hurried up and sent her a replacement for the item then buzzed over to look inside my magic box and delete the offending article...and wth about 75% of my stuff is missing

I hurried up and made everything inactive on xstreet (and oddly enough, none of my items on there had the little 'missing item' warning) but I don't know what happened...

so asking if anyone has any ideas and also letting ppl know you might want to look inside your magic box

The only time i have had that happen was after finishing loading my box.. 20 minutes later the region Crashed. It crashed pretty hard and the region reverted back a little over 1 hour prior.. So the items I had placed in the box was only partial. Seems the region reverted back to the time i was starting to ad my items in it..

Simply rez another copy of your magic box from inventory?

They recommend keeping two magic boxes in different sims (just take a copy after you fill your first one to rez in the second) to ensure against delivery problems, which would also protect against problems like this...

that is one use for the 16 plot sized plots, rezzing a secondary magic box (unless you are like me and have more than one box) I try to categorize mine and name the box accordingly...

well it needed a cleanup I suppose and this was nature's way of making sure I get it done Finding time to do it is another thing but I suppose a little at a time and I will have it.

I did try rezzing another from my inventory but it didn't help, and I did have 2 boxes in 2 diff sims...both look exactly the same now.

It does remind me of a rollback, I could almost pin it down to the day if that was it, based on what remained and what wasn't there. But I don't think anything rolled back a couple months, especially on 2 diff sims lol

I'm too busy to stress about it, like I said it needed a cleanup anyway so now it's going to get one I will lose a few sales inbetween but all in all xstreet accounts for about 3% of my monthly sales so it won't hurt TOO bad if it takes me the month to get everything back in there.

This happened to me the other day, too. I had a message from a customer saying they had received a empty box from me. I tested delivery of that same item, and the box I was sent was absolutely fine. I can only assume it was an SL glitch, possibly to do with the boxes automatically updating to the Xstreet version.

yes, even tho the item was no longer in my magic box, it was showing on xstreet still so I did a test delivery to myself. I got a lovely box with a picture of an outfit on it and nothing inside :X

I haven't had that happen before. But then, I haven't added anything to my magic boxes within the last couple of weeks.

Were you one of those affected by the recent inventory move, mayhaps?

Nothing magic about the magic boxes, they're as susceptible to getting corrupted as any other rezzed objects. Chunks of buildings disappear this way too.

The inventory server maintenance won't have been involved in this, rezzed stuff (except for attachments) is all tracked on the sim. LL doesn't have much more than rollbacks to deal with that one.
